OSCE is still a requirement. This as per the NMC websiteTest of competence – part two
The second part of the test of competence will assess an applicant’s clinical
knowledge. The test is an objective-structured clinical examination (OSCE) and can
only be completed in the UK. The test will be administered by the University of
Northampton who will administer their own test fee in agreement with us. Applicants
will need to contact the university directly to book and pay for their test.
Also I do not think the UK needs HCA's you are given a job as a HCA to get you used to working in the NHS whilst waiting for your NMC registration to be complete. When I worked in the UK there was no shortage of HCA's and many others where training to be a HCA
Yes typo, I meant the ONP not OSCE.
