NMC Decision Letter 2016

Published

Hi! Anyone here who knows how long it takes for the NMC to release a decision letter on your application, as I am anxiously waiting for mine for a little over a month now.

thanks!

Hello everyone! Is there anyone here who had previously treated PTB and got an IOM TB clearance? I had my xray in the IOM last 19 September but since I showed them my medical certificate and previous xrays, since I had a history, they told me that I needed to do an sputum exam which will take 9 long weeks before I get my medical certificate from the IOM (hoping and praying that there will be no growth) and I am expecting to have it by the first week of December. Basically there is a delay in my visa application, in addition to that, by the time that I will have that tb clearance my certificate of sponsorship will be expired by then. I am not sure if the hospital that I am applying to will be able to extend or request for another certificate. Would you mind to share if you guys also had an sputum exam and the result. Was it clear after 9 weeks? I have searched the internet for enormous times but I could not find a forum which says that they got the clearance after 9 weeks. I'm afraid that all those who undergo the sputum exam are eventually advised to undergo the treatment. I guess I cannot take that anymore, tb treatment was really hard and I suffered a lot of med side effects, my pulmonologist was even confident that my ptb last year is healed.

Thank you so much your response will be very much appreciated.

Hi ghing0293, BSN, RN , we received the decision letter on the same date. And I received my CoS last 14 Septermber. Actually it only took 9 days since I submitted the requirements to my agency

by 5 September. They said that documents are submitted officially every 5th of the month and the processing starts every 11th of the month, thereafter is the release of the CoS.

However, have you already had your tb clearance? Because IOM said there was a fibrosis in my xray so I needed to do sputum exam which takes 9 long weeks before the release of the result, I do hope and pray that there is no growth so I am expecting that I will get my medical certificate by the first week of December. Unfortunately my COS will be expired by then so I am not certain if my hospital would be able to request for another certificate of perhaps extend it so I can start the visa processing.

Hi caramel02, wow you're so lucky to receive your CoS immediately. I don't know what happened in mine why it is taking so long. I will discuss it with my agency again. Also I do not need to do any medical or TB testing as I am not residing in the Philippines. I am living here in the UAE and applicants coming from here are not required to undergo any TB tests or medical.

Hello caramel02, actually we have the same situation and it's really frustrating at first. I entered remedical after my treatment and the result was released after 9 weeks (good to know there is no growth). Right after that, they released my iom certificate. I thought everything will be fine after that, but now my NHS requires IGRA (Interferon Gamma Release Assay) which is a blood test to detect presence or immune response to TB. I just don't know if history of ptb treatment will yield to positive result too. I'm still waiting for my cos and looking forward to the visa processing right after. Would you mind if I'll send a personal message to you? what is your email-ad?

Hello nurses! I'd like to share my timeline and experiences with you:

IELTS UKVI: January 2017

- Had a really hard time getting the elusive Band 7 in Writing

Resigned from work: February

- I decided to resign this time to spend more time on my IELTS Review. After the long duty hours in the Operating Room, I had a hard time practicing the Writing part of the exam.

Academic IELTS: June

- After reviewing intensively for 3 months, and getting the rest I desperately needed, I got the required scores.

Employer Interview: July

- I decided to go with Omanfil because they're affiliated with Addenbrooke's Hospital.

CBT review/exam: August-September

- Received both copies of The Royal Marsden Manual (Professional and Student Edition). Really helped answering sample questions online, attending reviews on my free time, and reading through the advice provided by friends and the allnurses forum.

Processed Papers: September-October 9

- Took a while, I had to help out with caring for a family member. It didn't help that I had a difficult time with the NMC papers for the school. The Registrar we had was soooo... inefficient.

I was given a due date for my school papers 3 weeks from my payment date, only to find out through a friend that they had filled out their 'own' copy of the NMC form for Transcript of Training (yes, no barcode, short bond paper, totally disregarded the forms I gave them) with my details. They said that those are the forms that they use all the time with no problem encountered with the NMC and that's what they insisted on shipping via DHL. I put my foot down and told them that they need to use the barcoded forms I gave them.

Way way past the due date, it was a good thing we decided to pester the Registrar by constantly checking on their progress (multiple phone calls and personal appearance at the school) and reviewing the papers prior to being shipped to NMC. I don't know why they had to have a 3-week lead time to complete the forms, I saw that they could get the work done in less than a week.

I read here that it usually takes them 10-14 days to upload the forms, so I was pleasantly surprised that it took about 1-3 days to reflect in my portal that the NMC received the forms. Hopefully this means NMC is fast-tracking our assessment, I've read multiple articles that the NHS is really struggling with recruiting and retaining their nurses recently.

Am now currently waiting for my Decision Letter, no feedback yet from Omanfil regarding deployment date.

Congratulations fellow Omanfil applicant! It makes me happy when I see people who succeed by never giving up. Other people lose confidence when they fail on something but you persevered and here you are...waiting for a decision letter! I hope you receive it soon. Good Luck!

I have no idea how much it would cost... Maybe large hospitals such as St. Luke's or Makati Med offers IGRA. There's still time if your expected deployment is on the last week of November, everything will be fast paced once you receive your COS, so, brace yourself! Good luck!

Thank you for the support Vel! Hoping everything will be fine whatever the result is. I just have to remain my faith in Him. ☝️☝️☝️

Hello guys, anyone of you here who received a feedback from NMC but don't know your assessors name? How long did you wait before you received your DL? thank you.

About a week, they emailed me to upload my work history on my portal as Additional ID after a week my DL was sent to me.

Thank you. So it does not necessarily mean that you will be placed on queue again? I'm worried because I don't have my assessors email for me to directly contact him/her.

At first I thought that I will be queuing back to one again but I emailed them about it and at the same time they reply I received my Decision letter from my assessor.

That's definitely a relief. You emailed NMC registrations right to follow it up?

No I emailed only to ask about the queuing, my agency is the one who is ff ups for me.
