NMC Decision Letter 2016

Published

Hi! Anyone here who knows how long it takes for the NMC to release a decision letter on your application, as I am anxiously waiting for mine for a little over a month now.

thanks!

Hello guys. I received a feedback from NMC yesterday. I'm confused with their feedback regarding my reference form 2 whether I need to send another barcoded form through postmail or just upload in my portal a letter of explanation from my referee. Please see below feedback and I hooe you guys can enlighten me. Thank you.

Subject: We require confirmation from your employer that you were required to be a registered nurse/midwife to work in this role. Please provide a new reference form with this information.

Message:Employer Reference Two - Prac job title is listed as 'Clinical Research Nurse' - Clarification is needed that this role required registration and thus is classed as Registered Practice. This must be be issued on letter headed paper from the referee (named on Employer Reference Two form) stating whether registration was a requirement of the role. This letter must also clarify a specific role profile demonstrating which (if any) clinical duties were undertaken as part of the role, for example taking blood etc. Prac must upload this document to their portal as 'Additional I.D.'

Guys, are you also required by your NHS to undergo IGRA test (Interferon Gamma Release Assay) or TB testing through blood extraction instead of TBT (Tuberculin Skin test)? It is said that it is more accurate that skin testing. What if you had a history of TB but already treated, will it still lead to positive IGRA result? Thank you.

You're right, it is confusing! Anyway, based on the subject, it appears that they want you to resend a barcodes form... "Please provide a new reference form with this information." Then, include the letter (with the company letter head) that proves that your position requires a license/registration + your detailed job description. I could be wrong though, because the last sentence states that it should be uploaded in the portal...aaargh. I wish I could be of help. However, to be on the safe side, contact the nmc...

They only required us to do the TB testing @IOM. For some agencies they have mantoux test included in their medical exams.

Thank you Ms Vel for the response! I have my IOM cert on hand. Do you have any idea if IGRA will still lead to positive result despite of being treated already? I don't know if my NHS have to wait for the result first before they can issue our Cos. But they told us that it is a part of the OH form :(

Thank you so much. On the other hand though, new reference form could also mean the letter. Otherwise, they wiuld have informed me specifically if they need the barcoded form. I already send an email to NMC jist to be sure. Thank you.

Hi guys, anyone here who got their DLs last August and still waiting for their CoS? I received my DL last August 23 and it's already on the 2nd week of October but I still haven't got my COS. I checked with my agency and according to them there is delay from the UKVI side. It's been more than a month now and I'm still waiting. I need to apply for a visa before the month ends. :(

Im not so sure about this. What I know is that if the mycobacterium is no longer present in your body then the test shouldn't be able to detect it. Whether its PPD or IGRA. Also, these tests are not used alone to diagnose tb right? They still have to check the CXR. If your chest x-ray is good, then a positive PPD or IGRA may be considered as "false-positive." Before the test, you should ask your doctor about this. :)

What's your agency? I didn't realize that our CoS goes through the UKVI... I got my DL on September 6 and got my CoS last week.

Thank You Vel! It's quite uplifting! By the way, do you know any hospital with IGRA test and how much does it cost? :) My agency told me that our deployment date would be on the last week of November. However, i don't know if that's still possible since we don't have our cos upto now.

I have no idea how much it would cost... Maybe large hospitals such as St. Luke's or Makati Med offers IGRA. There's still time if your expected deployment is on the last week of November, everything will be fast paced once you receive your COS, so, brace yourself! Good luck!

Hi ghing0293, BSN, RN , we received the decision letter on the same date. And I received my CoS last 14 Septermber. Actually it only took 9 days since I submitted the requirements to my agency

by 5 September. They said that documents are submitted officially every 5th of the month and the processing starts every 11th of the month, thereafter is the release of the CoS.

However, have you already had your tb clearance? Because IOM said there was a fibrosis in my xray so I needed to do sputum exam which takes 9 long weeks before the release of the result, I do hope and pray that there is no growth so I am expecting that I will get my medical certificate by the first week of December. Unfortunately my COS will be expired by then so I am not certain if my hospital would be able to request for another certificate of perhaps extend it so I can start the visa processing.
