I am a registered nurse in the Philippines and now working as an Intensive Care Unit Nurse here in Saudi Arabia for almost two years.
I am planning to move my nursing career further in Ireland. I have paid the €350 assessment fee with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland (NMBI) and the accounts department already provided me with a pin and advised me to wait for the delivery of my application pack.
The assessment fee was processed since April 17, 2015. I just wonder about how long it would take me to receive the application pack here in Saudi Arabia.
I hope that someone could help me. I'm so excited to process my application for Registration with NMBI.
Hi Vera, i'm new to this group chat. Kind of felt relieved when i saw your post about the delay in receiving your application pack. I'm from Nigeria too, and i sent in my application request form since 14 th of June, really uanxious to receive my pack. I have called, all i was given was reference number, told to wait for one to two weeks more or give an address of someone in Ireland for them to resend the pack & d person will courier it to me . i have no contact there, really anxious and confused.

Hi franchi, nice to chat with u. First of all I'm going to ask you when NMBI deducted 350 euro from your account ? Again what address did you use? If it is a Nigerian address NMBI will send your pack through Nigerian Postal Service which ideally should mail it to your doorstep. Note NMBI will send to the address written on the form. But you know how it goes in my country.
However in my case NMBI mailed the pack a day after the deduction from my account which arrived in NIPOST office after 12 days. Instead it took a month for me to find the pack lying in one of their shelves b/c I was waiting for the delivery to my house. Although it will be nice to go to your nearby NIPOST office nicely ask them you are looking for white A4 size envelope sent by Nursing board Ireland (An board Altranais). Good luck

I think they have some clarification they need to address from your employer. If they asked for your employer's email address, they might have sent them an email and still waiting for reply. Ask your employer of they have received an email and tell them to answer it promptly.
I got the same email from one of the NMBI employees as well but she is asking me about my Saudi Verification form but my status wasn't changed to Further Information Required as I replied right after I got her email. I told her that my previous hospital wasn't able to register me and that I sent an explanation letter plus a copy of my prometrics exam together with my Section 1. I also told her that my DON can back me up and I can provide them her email and number if they need it. They emailed her the same day and my status was changed from review pending to assessment after two days. Maybe you can inform the one that emailed you that if the want to just ask your DON instead of the HR.
Hi.. may I ask what area u specialize in? I am also struggling to find an employer at first but I got a job offer from a nursing home. However, I really want to work in the hospital setting thats why I applied to other agencies. Im having a hard time finding a job that matches my skills. Im currently in the NICU. Apparently In Ireland if u want to work in pediatrics u have to have the necessary skills.. I just had a skype interview with a public hospital in ireland i hope I pass the interview nonetheless.. Just move on and find a different agency or employer.. and give your best shot. good luck to us
I'm new to this group and about to start my application to NMBI. Thanks to everyone who's been so active and given such great information on here! I have a couple questions.
1 for those who are NICU or peds nurses of any type, have you been able to practice in Ireland? Sounds like this might be a challenge for me since I'm from the United States and we have generalized education, even though I have 5+ years work experience.
2. Sounds like many of you are with an agency? Is this necessary to apply to the NMBI, or is it to help you find jobs? What are the advantages and disadvantages of going through an agency? Do they take a commission from your salary?
3. Can someone please send me an electronic copy or link of the application packet- I'd really appreciate it. :) [email protected]

Hello there! I already informed our Medical Director regarding his email and he said there's no email from the NMBI until now, he even told me that he checked his junk folder and still didnt find any email. Im getting anxious but my hopes are still high.
Did you double check the email that you gave them? Also, sometimes it takes them a long time to update the file on their website due to the high volume of applicants. You can also call them to ask about it.
