NLN Results....

Nursing Students Pre-Nursing

Published

I took my test on 1/27....I read on here some people are getting their results back in 12 days...well that's today. Does anyone who took their test that day have theirs back? How about those of you that took it just before then...are your results back yet?

I was fine this morning until I looked out my window and saw the mailbox. Then it hit me. Now I'm a NERVOUS NERVOUS NERVOUS wreck!!

Alrighty...hmmm. Well I'll be waiting on the mail truck.

Well, I did it. I went to the college and purchased my NLN RN pre-entrance Exam review guide. I'm going to start making flashcards next. I have found this the best way to study. I took a med terms class and the teacher required that we do this. I LOVE it. I can carry them with me when I'm out.

I have 115 days, 7/28/07, until I take my test. If I'm not prepared by then, God help me;) I put a countdown thing on my homepage, that should keep me on my toes.

This may be silly, but........... are you allowed calculators in the NLN??

Thanks.

Good Luck suesue, I took mine in March and got a 102 composite score, so I'm gonna try again in September...I'd like to get a better score. I know here in Nevada we weren't allowed calculators, just that scrap piece of paper, there was one lady that said she got a calculator..but it seemed to be a smaller town, I think..Think she was the only one taking it. That'd be nice if we could have a calculator..LOL. Think I need to move where she is from..LOL. Well good luck on studying and make sure you read up on the science part and learn your vocab words, cause the verbal is actually no Medical terms..Everyone I was telling about taking this exam that I know was like well you just get a medical dictionary, nope, I wish that was the case...Not that Much A&P in my test either...So just know your science and math...Good Luck!

Thankss for the info. I'm excited, yet nervous. Glad I picked a date further out. :monkeydance:

hi everyone,

does any body know what is the common score to get into the program? coz i know mostly school would only take 30 students.

if anyone gets acceptance, could u please disclose your score?thanks so much

i m so nervous as i got 126 only, 87% so worry.....i took the nln pre-ad exam few weeks ago only.

and congratulations for those who get acceptance...

feeling pretty cool~~~~~~~~~

Koko, for my program they go on points, like if you scored over 115, u get 1 pt and 122-127 2 pts and so on, so I think it just depends on your school. We get points for our prereqs, GPA, NLN score and other lil things. That adds up to a score to either get you in or not...I believe I heard if you get 19-21 pts, depending on semester you apply for, you get accepted.

I am a newbie, so I have to ask what is the NLN?

:welcome: to allnurses.com

The NLN stands for the National League for Nursing, there are several different NLN exams, but the one we are all stressing about is the pre-entrance exam. This exam is given at the specific school's discretion, meaning not all nursing school give it, and it is not mandatory for entrance into all nursing schools like the MCAT is for all med schools (guys you can correct me if I am wrong about that). It is only mandatory for the specific school that choose to include it in their admissions process.

So you can check with the school/schools you are applying too to find out if they use the NLN Pre admissions exam.

Thanks alot, I am trying to enter with as much knowledge as possible!

Hi everyone!!!

I'm a newbie. I take my pre-entrance exam 4/19..this coming Thursday. And to be honest.... I am sooo not prepared :scrying: . Reading this thread has me in panic mode..lol. I will try my best, but I do feel that I will have to take the exam again next semester. Yup..i'm that unprepared. I jumped on the list for the exam last minute. If I don't get a high score, I'll continue to finish up my other required courses & get them out the way. So when it's time for me to do clinical and my nursing courses, I won't have to worry about any more Bio courses, math courses, psychology courses or english. I'm sooo stressed with all of my other classes, it's hard to get in the groove of preparing for this exam.

Question. How much time did you take to study before taking the exam?

Hi. I am taking mine in late July. I hope yours goes well. Even though mine is down the road a bit, I feel like I will never be prepared anyway. Keep us posted. GOOD LUCK!!!! suesue70
