I took my test on 1/27....I read on here some people are getting their results back in 12 days...well that's today. Does anyone who took their test that day have theirs back? How about those of you that took it just before then...are your results back yet?

I was fine this morning until I looked out my window and saw the mailbox. Then it hit me. Now I'm a NERVOUS NERVOUS NERVOUS wreck!!

Alrighty...hmmm. Well I'll be waiting on the mail truck.

Hi SantaCruz

Im takin Microbio at Hunter!

I recently took the NLN. I didn't finish the verbal or the math sections completely. I got to question 40 on both sections. I know this affects the scores. I got a 91 composite score and the percentiles were in the mid 30s. I didn't do as well as I think I would of had I completed the sections in the hour. Do nursing programs consider that a factor when they analyze a student's potential or are decisions based solely on the scores? My undergraduate GPA is not competitive either. However my high school GPA is great. My graduate GPA is good since you have to maintain a B average to stay in the program. I have a great work background in community and urban studies. I am switiching careers so I don't have a science background. I just feel a bit discouraged because for those of us without a science background, we have a lot of shoes to fill when compared to folks that knew they always wanted to be a nurse. Any realistic assessments for me? I know if I went to school full time again like in high school, I would also do just as well as the others. HELP!

Hey ammartinez! sorry to hear about your NLN experience. It actually depends on the school you're applying to. There are a number of programs with a number of requirements. In general, most programs I've heard of require at least 100 composite for the NLN. These programs are usually extremely competitive so you would need both a competitive GPA and NLN. Other programs would solely rely on your GPA. Some even relying solely on your pre-requisite GPAs (since you have no science bground, you could definately work on this. The school I'm applying to needs a minimum 2.8 GPA but the students admitted last Fall2006 averaged 3.48. Try inquiring about the programs around your area.... Ive heard of first come first serve schools as well, although the waiting lists are probably an issue!

Good luck on your choice for nursing!!! :) And all the best!

Hey batman!!!! WhooohooooO! FINALLY, you got your score! :) and may I say... CONGRATULATIONS! Thats a fantastic score! :)

Well I got my scores back from taking the NLN on 3/24 and ewwww weeee....102 composite..I think 50 something percentile...Could've done sooo much better had a certain boyfriend helped me out a lil more and watched my son a lil more so I can study..So I'm gonna set to take it in Sept, so hopefully I will get in my Bio 224 or Micro...Maybe it will teach me some more. I suck at the vocab words and some of the math and oh soome science..lol. I'm so bummed. I will say it is a lil better then I expected...Got my scores back pretty fast...I got them yesterday so just under a week. I shreiked when I saw them in the mailbox. Well better luck Next time I guess....Congrats Batman on your scores that you were waiting a eternity for..

Hey TnKzMom! Good luck on studying for this sept! Its a good think you found out what your weakness is! And its also great they gave you your results back!

Thank you Caeiluna! Thinking I'll pick my Biology 130 book up again and start reading and brush up on some math, I can't seem to remember some of the questions that got me on the exam. I did notice some from the McDonald book was in there. Wish there was a way to know what ones you got wrong..lol. Thanks for the encouragement.

congrats to all you gals and guys who passed - any advice for those of us just starting to study? any trick questions you can help us pass? any good study aids (besides the book on the website) - any particular focus we should concentrate on?? i want to pick your brains for any and all advice, thanks a million!

Well i suck most terrible at math, and i found these two books called No Fear Math and Painless Fractions helped me a whole lot with understanding the basics. I still didn't do so terrific on the math section although i studied my butt off for it, but i think that if i didn't put all that time and energy into it i'd have done much worse.

Just practise timeing yourself a lot, it will come in handy for the test and remember that although your practise test says 60 questions for Vocab/reading comp and Science and 40 for math, remember on the actual test its 80 questions each for Vocab/reading comp and 54 questions for math. A couple of people ran into some trouble with that and they were totally devestated. On the actual test, keep your eyes on the time, you come to something you don't know, KEEP IT MOVING, come back to it at the end. and NEVER EVER leave anything blank, put something even if you don't know it. Thats all ive got. Pretty much of summary of everyone's advice on this thread.
