Hi everyone - I am considering applying for the Jersey City NJCU ABSN program starting in 2020. Has anyone submitted their application?
Hey all!
Just created an account. I applied for the fall semester (2020) for the NJCU ABSN (jersey city campus). I've been checking the status of my app regularly on NursingCAS, and haven’t seen an update as of yet.
but to be on the safe side, I’m going to sign up for the remaining prerequisites for rutgers. Still hoping for NJCU tho.
good luck and may the odds be ever in our favor

@nursingjewel I hope not, but I was thinking the same thing !
@Rachaelauren18 @nursingjewel OMG I was thinking the same thing. I am also concerned that they may make the classes virtual. I hope it does not mess up our clinicals too. I know RU has cancelled clinicals.

@otgd8Yeah, I’m just checking my email in case something comes out. I need to give my current employer notice, but nervous the program itself may get postponed. I was planning to give them a month and tell them right after orientation. I guess it’s just a waiting game! The orientation could probably be done virtually as well, besides getting measured for uniforms..
Just letting you all know- we're going through a tough time with our clinical locations and with the school so don't be shocked if its a little longer for your letters. then again, it could come tomorrow, I have no idea. but the staff at the school is scrambling right now for the current students and with clinical sites.
So your first semester classes are fundamentals, health assessment (these two are the most important), informatics, contemporary, gerontology, and pathophysiology....fundementals has a lab and practice component for about 6 weeks and then it switches over to clinical site. there is also a lab for HA and you must show up in full uniform as its treated as if you are in the hospital.
Second semester is pediatrics, OB, and Adult health I (all these have clinicals), pharmacology, research, culture.
