Hi everyone - I am considering applying for the Jersey City NJCU ABSN program starting in 2020. Has anyone submitted their application?

Me, too! Last year they announced J.C. super late...I want to say May-ish? I'm very nervous because my HESI was 90.33. I did not study enough for the A&P portion, which really dropped my cumulative. I hope they strongly consider GPA, too (4.0 for pre-reqs and 3.85 cumulative). I read on last year's thread that the HESI was the most highly weighted among application components. I will also apply to Rutgers' program once I complete Chem II.
@Melissa Daniel Melissa, your stats are amazing! I got an 83 on the HESI; I killed it on everything and then A&P was awful for me, too! 30 questions is so not enough to keep a decent average up! Your GPA is incredible and that's a great HESI score! I really hope they consider so much more than the HESI. ?
Oh my goshhhhh, May-ish is so far away! That's absolute torture.
Have you read anything about the schedule of the program? I am trying to figure out if people are able to manage a few hours of work here and there. I haven't ever gone to school full time without working, its a bit intimidating.
@Jacelynglu712 @Melissa Daniel Both of your stats look great! I remember thinking that 30 questions was brutal as well. If you missed 3 on the AP or BIO section, you already lost an A for that part! Did you guys apply anywhere else?
I was accepted at Rutgers Newark and accepted. But, I will absolutely write if I hear from NJCU and keep you posted ? I wish you all the very best of luck and hope the wait isn't torturously put off til MAY!
@Jacelynglu712 @Tsal Have you received any confirmation email from NJCU that the app was at least received? I'm so nervous. Definitely lost an A on the HESI A&P part... also typo on my cumulative - it's 3.33, not 3.85. I think I swapped the undergrad credits when I calculated it, whoops. I heard from a young woman in my nutrition class that she got accepted to Rutgers Newark ABSN program, too. CONGRATS! I only applied to NJCU so far; it's the most affordable and had the least prerequisites. Regarding the class schedule and working- if I get into the NJCU program I am going to bust my butt working every day this Summer to save for a huge chunk of tuition. Once class starts, I am leaving my current job. My husband is an RN at the VA and has co-workers who completed NJCU's ABSN and worked, too. If I find that I can manage both, I'll try, but I would rather not. We are not taking out any loans (both of us had scholarships for undergrad).
@Tsal Thanks! I'll post any/all correspondence I received from admissions, too, of course. And yeah, he's pretty supportive, haha. Although he does not stress over anything (great quality in a nurse, btw!), and I'm a bit of a stress-head when it comes to academic stuff, so he's rolling his eyes when I start obsessing.
Did anyone know/have any contacts in the NJCU-ABSN department before they applied? I'm wondering if I should have made more of an effort to speak with them beforehand to build connections. The last time I applied to any advanced education program was in 2005 and connections were everything!
@beckitofloThank you! Did you order your scrubs online after getting the measurements?
When do clinicals start by the way? Is it the second semester? Which hospitals did you guys go to?
I am so curious LOL.

the flu shot is only good for the season, that's why I'm not sure. It's too early now for JC cohort for next year, Wall I'm not sure what vaccine you may have to get it again in the fall.
