Moved to the International forum.

Answered your post in the other thread. But to add some BON's will waiver the English exam is course was done in English using English text books.

We ask that anything pertaining to foreign trained and working in the US be asked in the International forum as things can be slightly different when trained outside of the US and many US nurses are not aware of the process.

thnxx for taking time to answer my question

If you are in NJ and plan to work there, then you are going to need to get a license for that state. Getting licensed in another state will not permit you to work in NJ, they require their own license.

You are not applying for the NCLEX exam, there is no application for that. You are going to need to get the CES done thru CGFNS, and they have the same requirements as the specific state does.

ESL course does not meet the language requirements if NJ has one before they will permit you to sit for the exam. If you took an ESL course, it means that you may not have been happy with your English language skills, and the requirement is that your English be at the college level as well.

Just taking a course is not the same as writing an exam. If your pgoram was in English in your country, not sure why you took an ESL course either.

Suggest that you check directly with the BON and get their answer.

i see. i just came here a week ago..

nj has a lot of requirements, plus the ces fee would cost me much.. and im looking for a state that process the license faster, but reading from the posts here, i guess its much wiser to have it in NJ since i also live here..

im stil waiting for my results though for the NLE last june 1&2..

i have plans to apply in california since they dont need the ces and english exams unlike in NJ.. pls correct me if im wrong.. then il just apply by endorsement here in NJ after.. but i have no idea how long would it take me and if the same requirements would apply..

if ever ill apply here in nj, suzzane, im still required to take the english exams, right? (though im a us immigrant) just making sure..

thanks for the help..

You have to meet requirements of BON even for endorsement. If in doubt check directly with them but normally requirements are same for initial licensure as well as endorsing license Therefore will not save money or time so better to meet their requirements to start with.

If you wish to work in NJ, then you are going to need to meet their requirements for that. It is not as simple as just paying the fee for it and being done.

You are going to need to have the CES completed as well as what ever other requirements that they want. Immigration and licensure are two very different things and nothing is waived for you in terms of licensure. If you wish to work in NJ, or most other states, you are going to need to go thru that. You cannot get around it by endorsing as it is required for that as well.

And perhaps you are not aware that CA will not even give permission for you to sit for the exam if you do not have a local license. The requirement is not waived for you as you are still actually a citizen of the Philippines, not the US.

As far as language requirements, CES requires whatever a state does. You will need to check out the specific requirements as far as NJ.

Best of luck to you.

thank ya'll for the help
