Nipissing SPP 2018

Published

Hi there! Just wanted to get in conctact with other applicants who are applying to the Scholar Practioner Program at Nipissing University.

We could use this thread to talk about different components of the application.

Cheers :)

Yes if you meet the cut off (75%) they automatically look at your supplemental application so you have a great shot :)

I'm thinking that we will be hearing from them very soon!!

Thanks! :) I'm so excited/nervous because I don't know what to expect... Nipissing is definitely one of my top choices.

It's nice to know I have people to talk to this on this forum as I know only one other friend whose applying to Ontario Nursing Schools from my area.

85% is great! My GPA for 10 full courses is anywhere from 80-82% depending how I calaculate it!

I found the CASper test alright but it definatly had some difficult questions. I wrote a few practice ones but on the actual test I think I could have done better - however I am a perfectionist so i am trying not to over think the small details.

I'm happy I have some people to talk to aswell! Where are you girls from? I live in Vaughan, ON which is about 25 mins from Toronto.

I hope the interview invites come out soon too! Please write here if yours comes so we know they have started to send them out!

I'm from Vancouver, B.C.! Born and raised :) I'm applying to Ontario schools to get out of my comfort zone and to try living somewhere new for a bit. Nipissing appealed to me because of its unique program structure.

I also went to Toronto last summer to visit friends and I love the city!

Awesome! I lived away for my undergrad so I get that :) Hopefully we all get in and then we can develop getting to know eachother :)

Did you study for the CASPer? I'm curious because most people say you don't, but when I look on google, there are places that prepare you for CASPer and courses too.

Still waiting to hear back about interviews too. I'm wondering if they're waiting for CASPer results first. I'm writing mine on the 22nd too.

I just did the practice test that is offered on the CASper website a few times! I know there are courses but I think it depends on the person and what their needs are :) too much preparation is never a bad thing!

I did do some practice questions but I don't really think they helped all that much. When it comes down to it you either have a good answer or don't, and most times it's common sense :) good luck!

So anxious to get an email about interviews!! Ah!! Anyone else?! :)

Hey Everyone. I'm Dana from London, Ontario. Nipissing is my first choice! I recently (2017) graduated from Waterloo University. I am currently working as a Restorative Care Coordinator and Therapeutic Recreation Specialist. Application and CASper completed... now in the same stage waiting impatiently to hopefully receive an interview invite. Good luck to all!!

you 100% will! Your experience sounds awesome! Welcome to the group!
