Nipissing SPP 2018

Published

Hi there! Just wanted to get in conctact with other applicants who are applying to the Scholar Practioner Program at Nipissing University.

We could use this thread to talk about different components of the application.

Cheers :)

Hi Everyone,

I have been following this forum for quite a while since January 2018. I finally decided to create an account and introduce myself. I have graduated from McMaster University with a Life Science degree. I have applied to Nipissing SPP and UofT Nursing.

I had my interview with Nipissing SPP on March 12th and got my acceptance on March 27th!!!!! I am so excited. However, I am still waiting to hear back from UofT. I am also on the same boat. If I were to get accepted to UofT, I don't know which one to accept.

Congratulations to everyone who got accepted! and to the others, wait patiently your turn will come around for sure :) Hopefully, you hear back from them soon!

Hope we hear back from UofT by end of April!! What are you thinking of doing if you don't hear back before Nipissing deadline?? I'm in same boat as you

I hope so too! Well if I don't hear back from them before the date, I have to accept the offer. I think we can switch to accepting Uoft, if we get accepted. Isn't there a final date for making last decisions?

If you get accepted to UofT too, which would you choose?

An admissions person from UofT told me that he thinks they can't make us pay a deposit until June 1st but wasn't sure. So yeah I hope we have a bit of a window!! Don't know which I would accept if I get both! Originally I imagined UofT being my first choice but after learning more about SPP I got quite intrigued so we shall see!!

A little bit off topic, but has anyone looked into place to stay in downtown Toronto close to the Nipissing campus? I feel like it's so hard to find a reasonably priced place and roommates!

Hey! I was looking into places as well and was using this website: Welcome | Search4StudentHousing

They have pretty decent prices, starting from around $500.

Unfortunately Downtown Toronto is going to be expensive no matter what. I would recommend renting somewhere outside of the downtown core, but on or close to the subway line. I'm personally going to be commuting from the far East end of Toronto, which would take me about an hour by subway, but rent is much more affordable in that area. You could probably find a place with an even shorter commute for a decent price.

Hey everyone!

Just a quick question for those of you who have already been accepted - did you get an email as well about your acceptance or was it just on OUAC? Thanks!!

No emails, just a status change on webadvisor and OUAC a few days later.

Woow I felt the same way too!

Is there campus tour available for Nipissing SPP? If so, how do you book a tour?

Hey! Thanks for the input! I guess I'll try searching a bit further away :)
