Hey guys I'm super excited to be starting Nightingale's RN program fall 2023. I tested out of reading, writing, and math. I was a little nervous to test because im pretty bad at math but its actually pretty easy. They're accepting 30 of my pre req credits so it will take me 24 months to complete the remaining credits. I have to finish up my fasfa application fingers crossed I hope it covers a good amount of the tuition. Anyone else starting this fall?

right now it says I'm transferring in 33 but but I'm hoping with the other 2 classes I'm petitioning it will be 39. Then I'm taking 1 or 2 prerequisites over the Summer at a community college. So hopefully I transfer in 39-42 credits by the end of Summer.
Yeah, I was gonna ask the advisor if I could take more classes at once as long as they're not clinical courses. But maybe it's for the best. I'm sure they're gonna give me a run for my money with the 3 courses/semester anyway. I plan on studying a lots. Hopefully at least 2x's however many credits I'm taking that semester.

So, these are the closest things I could find that you could potentially use as references to study. I would just look up accuplacer reading or writing questions on quizlet. They're really similar to the ones on the test and some may even be the same.
Hello everyone! I am new here. I'm planning to start Nightingale College in the Fall 2023. I'm from California and excited to start my BSN. I just took my accuplacer and passed the Arithmetic section but missed the writing by 1 or 2 questions, the reading by 1 question. Not sure if I should retest for the writing/reading or take the courses for the fall. I don't want to fall back another semester just to take that course. Any advice? Thank you in advance.

Retest. I believe they give you 3 chances to take each section. It wouldn't hurt if it'll save you courses you might not need. I posted some quizlets above for the reading and writing sections for the accuplacer. Those are very similar and some might be the same as the ones on the test.

Hi! If you were that close to passing I would retake it which is what I did. I'm shooting for the fall as well for the BSN just waiting for transcript evaluations. I passed the HESI and I passed that beast of a dosage calculation course... don't underestimate this one it is a lot of info. I was a little rusty on peds calculation but did okay... some I had to retake just watch what you're doing and follow the directions just like they said.
I'm done with everything as fas as transcripts, entrance exam and filling out the application. All I need now is to retest for the english part, MDC course, and the HESI exam.
The HESI you took was for the health assessment and the med surg? How was that exam? What do you recommend to study if there is any study guides?

Study from the accuplacer practice exams it is just like the real exam for the writing and reading. Also, do the quizlet those can be a big help as well. Good luck!

I passed the HESI assessment 1040 was my score. Now I'm prepping for the med surg HESI. The exam was pretty straight forward not difficult just take your time to think and weed out those wrong answers. I messed up on one for sure and couldn't go back to change it. I used YouTube videos those really helped to refresh content. For med surg I'm doing the same thing and also quizlet, Saunders NCLEX book I have.

Yeah I'm in the same exact boat as you! I am in the nightingale facebook group and was able to ask if anyone was able to transfer in nursing classes from a previous nursing program such as ADN. Two people replied telling me they had the opportunity to challenge the courses.
my advisor told me my classes have been deemed "non transferable" but I wonder if I can still challenge it somehow. Because as we all know, subtracting some nursing courses REALLY helps with decreasing cost and time in the program. Since they only allow you to take one nursing core class per semester
I'm going to look into scholarships too but I know I will mostly be relying on federal and private loans.
