I know a couple that had a 25 weeker that had a bilat grade 4 bleed in its brain(the worst) NEC and a PDA. When the parents removed the baby from support her family disowned her saying that she was killing the baby because it would be retarded. That was 3 years ago and that family has never been the same. So please be verry supportive no matter what choices your niece makes!

They had to do a C-section because the baby had turned and was breach. She had a little boy who weighed 2 lb 2 oz and she was 27 weeks.
I don't know the length or anything else as of right now. My sister (her mom) said she saw the baby when they wisked him away and he looked long to her and was peeing as they were going by.
For now that is all I know. Thanks everyone for your posts and concerns.
I will update later.

He is only a day old, but they have taken him off the respirator. They said his lungs were doing very well, but they do have him on oxygen. But other than than, he is doing pretty good. He tries to suck his thumb also. I know it will be a few months before he can go home, but each good day is a milestone in his little life.
Thanks everyone for all of your encouraging posts and prayers.
