NH applicants 2015

I thought I would start a thread for anyone applying for the nursing program starting in 2015. I've applied to WMCC, LRCC, GBCC. The only school I think I have a good chance at is LRCC, but since I'm about a hour drive from each of them I figured I would go ahead and apply to them all. Going to be a long few months waiting for a decision.

Congrats everyone!!! I didn't see anyone say anything about St. Joes in nashua, but I got accepted there! Very excited. Orientation is this weds. When is everyone else's ? I am getting a list started about questions I have. I got accepted other places down in MA but this one is the closest and cheaper.

I'm also taking A&PII this summer to get it out of the way! I'll be taking a hybrid online/lab course, which is new for me but we'll see how it goes! Orientation for GBCC isn't until May 18th, I'm excited to get some more info that day and find out my sched!

Congrats on your acceptance. I haven't been told when my orientation is. I'm hoping its soon, I'm dying to find out more information. I've signed up for my classes already though..LRCC really pushes the registration during the first open week :). My A&P teacher basically said in the middle of class, we're signing up for classes today here's a schedule and forms, hehe. I had to track down a nursing instructor to sign the thing.

I'd also like to find out what I need to buy and start purchasing things so I'm not scrambling to come up with money at the last minute. Got my stethoscope already though...its awful pretty ;)

Congrats to everyone! MCC orientation is April 24th and I can't wait. I too want to start getting stuff I need soon, so I'm not spending a huge chunk all at once.

Hey have you received a receipt or any confirmation of your deposit for great bay? I feel like I am being paranoid but I am worried my seat wont be held since it is not showing up on the online student account or anything. I find it strange I don't have a confirmation of payment received and cleared. :)

rockyshorz, No I haven't but that's probably because I only put mine in the mail yesterday, haha. I would think they should notify you that it has been received, maybe you can give Admissions a call, they're usually very helpful and they should have that info I would think. I also emailed Lisa with my RSVP for orientation and she hasn't written back to me, I guess they're just taking their time!

:-) haha I had to send mine in right away I was paranoid! My check cleared so maybe they figured that was fine, I'll have to call Monday I guess. May 18 seems so far away!

The BON is recommending that LRCC cancel their admission of the fall of 2015 class. This is what the minutes say; Based on lack of evidence regarding improvementof student learning outcomes for Fall 2014 andSpring 2015 and lack of trended/aggregated datefrom ATI testing, Board recommends suspensionof student admission and enrollment for admittingclass of Fall 2015.

Now LRCC has said nothing about not possibly having a fall class. This was from the Feb meeting, so before they had sent out acceptance letters. Their their nclex scores are from 2010 to 2014 95.45% 84.38% 84.62% 52.00% 76.92%.

This is so frustrating, it seems based on the wording that they are leaving up to the school to decide to have the fall class, but if they do and then lose approval of their program everyone will be screwed.

Wow, WanderingWilder, that would be awful! 52% nclex rate in 2013, though? That is very low.

It is very low and I was already considering whether I wanted to risk going there, but then this year it was up to 76% and it was only one really low year the other years were about what the national average is. Its another thing though when they may lose the approval of the BON as a program, my understanding without the approval the students aren't eligible for the nclex.

I think if i get a spot at GBCC i'm going there. I really don't want to do the drive and I like LRCC in general, but I can't risk going to school for nothing either.

Yikes, that's a tough choice! I'd say the drive is worth it though, if there's a chance you might not even qualify to take the nclex after graduating. Good luck!

Wilder,

I'm sorry to hear you've got such a tough choice. I found another thread from last year talking about LRCC that might be helpful for you.
