I thought I would start a thread for anyone applying for the nursing program starting in 2015. I've applied to WMCC, LRCC, GBCC. The only school I think I have a good chance at is LRCC, but since I'm about a hour drive from each of them I figured I would go ahead and apply to them all. Going to be a long few months waiting for a decision.

Hello!
I have been constantly refreshing the threads to see if anyone from NH shows up. I recently decided on a career change and applied to NHTI and MCC's ADN programs. I applied early decision for NHTI found out this week that I got accepted for Fall 2015! It's going to be an hour commute for me but I know I can do it.
Good luck on your admissions. I know it feels like a long wait but the time will fly.
Congrats on your admission. I just missed early decision. From what I have seen on old threads they seem to send out decisions early March. I'll just have to hibernate till then. Would you mind me asking what your grades on the prereqs and what you TEAS score was?

Hi,
I'm also applying to GBCC's program for Fall 2015...I'll be taking the Teas V for the second time this week. What makes you think you don't have a good chance at GBCC?
I don't think I have a good chance because I haven't completed A and P yet and they give extra points to those who have. Plus I believe they waitlist anyone who has done A and P but didn't make the cut and they get in first the next year.
Yah I have the same problem, I won't have both A&P I and II done before the deadline. But that's not a definite no so I'm still hoping! That's also why I'm taking the Teas V again...my first scores were pretty good but I want to make sure they're enough to get me in without having the pre req's completed. Good luck to you! It's going to be tough waiting until March to hear back!
I don't think we are out of the running at all, I'm sure they take people without them too or else they would probably say don't bother applying lol. I think my best chance is LRCC because they only look at you bio, chem, algebra grades, teas score and references. I think WMCC looks at all past grades and I haven't always done well in college. GBCC is slightly further away then I want to travel as well, about a hr and half. Good luck on the Teas test.
Jessica,
I had a 96% Adjusted Individual Total Score on the TEAS that I took in October 2014, and received an A in A&P I. I was in the middle of finishing A&P II when I applied in the fall. I have a previous Bachelor's degree that I finished just a few years ago, so I know I had a bit of a leg up not being out of school for long.
However, all of the CCSNH list the minimum requirements because they are exactly that, minimums. When I spoke with admissions at NHTI they said they weighted most heavily the TEAS score. You may have completed high school classes years ago, but the TEAS is a good indicator of how you are doing in English/math/science right now. Yes A&P and Micro will give you extra points. They recommend you get them done first as the nursing classes are tough enough on their own/take up so much time, plus it is helpful to have a strong basis in that knowledge before beginning. But that doesn't mean it's impossible.
I would double check about the wait list. I know that at NHTI and MCC there is no wait list roll over from year to year. If you do not get in one year you have to reapply, there is no special consideration.
As far as I know Great Bay is the only one that has the waitlist and you can only be on it if you have done A&P 1 and 2. I have a friend that is attending that school and she was told that by the college. I had to retake all the prereq classes in college because I wasn't the best high school student and I didn't even have the min grade required. I got an 86% on the Teas so I'm hoping its high enough. Thanks for your answer.

I applied to MCC. Does anyone know when schools usually send out acceptance letters? I am also curious what is considered a "good" TEASV score? Good luck everyone!
I emailed the admissions office at the schools I'm applying to to find out about when they send out acceptance letters. As for a good TEAs score that one is hard, because the school is comparing your score to the other applicants. So good is really subjective to what your competition's scores are. On your score report it does tell you what percentile your score is compared to scores nationally so that can give you an idea on how you did.
