Newbie here; NCLEX question

Published

Hi ya'll,

I'm new here and hoping someone can answer my question. I'll be taking the NCLEX exam next week. Our instructors really didn't explain much.. except that it'll probably take 5 hours to complete.

Is there a certain percentage one has to make to pass the test? I sure would appreciate any information because it would probably ease some of my anxiety about taking it.:sniff:

Thanks

The Nclex just wants to make sure by 90% that you know what you are doing. There is no percentage grade they will give you, you don't know when you leave the test if you passed or not. It takes about 2 weeks for them to send you a pass or not pass.

Every nurse will get 50% correct and 50% incorrect. It is the level of the questions that you are getting them correct that determines if you passed or not. They are only considered that you will bestarting off as a safe nurse and nothing more.

This is an excellent link that describes the NCLEX. I find so many posts that are incorrect that I think it is best to read the info from the people that actually make these tests. Good Luck and hope it helps. There is also an excellent thread by Eric Enferno. Search him and click on his name and it will give you the option to view his posts. You'll have to go through them to find the one on the NCLEX. Again good luck!
