New Zealanders and Australians please reply

At the moment we have an Australian forum -

would you like a seperate thread or have an incorporated into an ANZAC type thread - l think becaause we are btoh small countries with in many ways similar interests and history it could be good l have asked Brian to think about this - however l beleive that we as Australians and NEw Zealanders should put our opinions forward - we do do this well generallly.

Please place some comments

i rather like the NANZ - idea

i have rung the RSL melbourne head quarters and they have said the the name is copyrighted - to prevent misuse etc

Any way we could write to the national hed quarters to get permission - which would be lengthy and maybe in a way unneccessary

_ most people whohave responded ahave said they would like an incorporation of the area

As sated a suggestion was for

NANZ

Nurses of New Zealand and Australia for the forum name

My husband suggested Oceania - as this would incorporate both Aus and NZ as well as the outlyig areas and the south pacific areas - l would apprecaite you opinions ion these ideas as well as any other sugggestiosn Brian is happy if we come up wit a name for ourselves - please make your comments known - and any alternatives are most welcome

Sandra

Hey you guys out there - any more thoghts on a name change

Need some input- like to try and be democratic and get peoples opinion

I like the idea of incorporating them all together.

How about including Oceania into it i.e. NANZO, thus Aus, NZ and the south pacific would all be included. I think sometimes the smaller dots (inc. NZ) on the globe are sometimes forgotton about, so a united front could be good for all. And the aussies sound good for it!

Good Idea I vote for Oceana simply because everyone would know what it meant when looking up "nursing discussions" on the board. It would help in inviting input from our neighbours such as Papua and Fiji.

I just have little faith in my fellows however, and believe that as soon as Brian converges the threads into oceana he wil be deluged by members complaining about how we are "not important enough to have our own thread". 2 gets you 10 that these will be members we have never heard of before and will never hear of again.

If Brian simply added Oceana to the discussion group WE could use it as an incorporative thread while not "offending" others.

NANZO sounds like a good idea. It gets my vote.

ps it would include Tasmanians as well, they seem to get left off international maps, so it will make them feel happy (joke guys OK!)
