New York Presbyterian/Columbia (NYP Email) New Grad

Published

I got an email yesterday from NYP/Columbia that I am selected as a "top candidate" and can skip the meet and greet and go to an interview with Nurse Leaders in June. Has anyone else received this now or in the past and could provide advice? I know the process is long being hired at such a premier hospital. Just wondering if anyone could give me some insight.

Thank you!

kdacayo- what units did you interview yesterday? Did you go in the afternoon? I'm not sure if you said what units or if I missed it!

I interviewed for Mother-Baby and Peds! I went at 11:20. How about you?

I'm in the same boat as you nurse6193! I graduate in July so maybe that is why we are only seeing "future consideration" for the general New Grad Event Application. I'm staying hopeful that I had the opportunity so early on to interview and hopefully something will open up down the line and we'll get the call!

Good luck to everyone and congrats!

I was there at 2:40 for ICU/Neuro and PICU.

Apparently they've never done a process like this before with the top grads skipping a meet and greet.. I wish we knew more regarding what to expect!

I am assuming the individuals that got an email are on the waiting list, because others who did not get the email got a call instead. I am not sure, I am just guessing because it makes sense.

The person who got the call, received the email as well.. who knows!

Oh! Thats really good news. Has anyone that went on tuesday heard anything yet (e-mail or call)?

I feel like they're awaiting to see interviews at Cornell to look at all the candidates from both interviews and then determine where to put everyone. Or if you stood out a lot then you got a call right away?

I was thinking the same thing! Who knows tho... the process seems a bit prolonged?

Specializes in Surgica/Trauma/Neuro ICU.

I hope so! Hopefully they let us know soon!

So I just got an email saying that I was identified as a top new graduate. Not sure what that means.
