I got an email yesterday from NYP/Columbia that I am selected as a "top candidate" and can skip the meet and greet and go to an interview with Nurse Leaders in June. Has anyone else received this now or in the past and could provide advice? I know the process is long being hired at such a premier hospital. Just wondering if anyone could give me some insight.
Thank you!
Nice. It seems like no one has received a future consideration for both departments only one department of the two. Do you work or previously worked at Cornell/Columbia?
Yea, I noticed that too! Weird. I don't, but my friend who does work at Cornell did get a "future consideration" for the peds unit that I did too a few days later
I just spoke with someone from HR and was told that if you got the email/status change, it means you are placed in a pool for that particular specialty for ALL NYP locations, not just the floor you interviewed with. So when there is a new graduate opening, i'm guessing they pick from that pool of ppl to interview? Regardless, the representative told me that the status change is a good thing.
Lily25, thank you for clarifying that.
I just want to know whether its going to be 1 week or 1 month (hopefully not 1 year...) until we hear back about an offer. Its hard sitting around waiting for NYP when there are other potential offers. Has any one heard back besides having "future consideration" on their status?
Hey guys,
So I interviewed the 16th. They told me that I would be contacted two weeks from the day of the interview and if I don't hear back to contact my talent acquisition recruiter. My original recruiter changed jobs at NYP and assigned me to a new member. I've emailed her twice no answer, and don't have her number. My original recruiter was so nice and called/emailed me the same day, if I had any questions. I feel like I am in the same position as most. I interviewed, got an email saying congratulations "you stood out at the meet and greet," and then it says future consideration on my online application. Has anyone heard back, and does anyone have Ms. Bacchas phone number?
Thanks!
Hi, All.
I spoke to human resources and was told future consideration places us on a waiting list. Though you maybe listed for a speciality you can interview for a smilie department. Example, if you interviewed for surgical ICU, you can can be selected for burn, medical, surgical ICU. Also, we have to interview one more time with the nurse manager for the department you are selected for. I was also told some people are called after two weeks while others maybe called after 6 months so it's all a waiting game. Depending on which patient care director you met with on June 9 or June 16, determines if you end up at the Cornell, Columbia and Lower Manhattan campus.
Does anyone know if we can be in the program still if we have some experience? For example, if I was to take a position now and then get a call from NYP in December do you think they would still let me start through the new grad program? I know most hospitals allow you to be in a New Grad Residency Program as long as you have less than 6 months experience, however I am unaware of NYP policy. Thanks!
