VEEB LPN Program (info request)

U.S.A. New York

Published

Hi All,

I'll be starting at VEEB in the Fall and was wondering if there are any current or past VEEB students that can give some info on this program.

What are the Teachers like?

What are the required books?

Is the program as intense as they say?

Do they have articulation agreements with other nursing (RN) programs? If so, with who?

Are there any disadvantages in taking the LPN course outside of a Community College setting?

Do they provide job Placement at the end???

Any information that ANYONE can provide will be GREATLY appreciated! I really want to have a full understanding of what I'm in for. I have 2 year old Twins and I am a little worried about whether or not I'll be able to juggle school/studying and Family!

Went to the SNYA'S information session today. It turned out okay. They are NOT funding VEEB's full tuition this year, not even half ($4900 to be exact)! I guess that's better then nothing tho. :\ Anyway, I was able to meet a current student at VEEB who will be graduating in August and boy did she give me a nice run down of what to expect starting September! Looks like we're in for many sleepless nights lolololol Good luck all. See u guys Tuesday. :)

Hey LilyNurseG0al,

Did they say anything about having to work at one of their facilities for 2 years?

Hey LilyNurseG0al,

I know when I graduated, you DID NOT have to work for 2 years if SNYA only paid half. SNYA paid every single cent for me so that's why I'm doing two years..which will be up in OCT. My friend only did one year since SNYA paid half her tuition.

Hey LilyNurseG0al,

I was told that theres no real long term contract now because a lot of their facilities are not hiring new grads. So I guess if they can't place u then they can't require u to work for them. win win situation, either way it's free money. lol

Congrats! future lpn2011. I have been reading ur posts and decided to join allnurses.com. Its been really helpful...Anyone live in Brooklyn? Dos anyone know if were suppose to study for the exam given @ orientation?

I'm in Brooklyn. Welcome to the forum. The test given on orientation will not affect our grades in anyway. It's an exam to see where the whole 2011 class is academically before starting VEEB (so I was told). I guess it's up to the person if he/she wants to study for it or not. I will probably go over some math n science questions just to brush up. Good luck. See u on Tuesday LORD'S willing. lol :)

lily nurse goal, im driving there and was wondering if u were or did u have a carpool? i live in mill basin

hello everyone im new to the board. but i have been reading every post written since january....but anyway i just wanted to know is anyone going to veeb in the fall coming from the bronx???

SNYA has begun sponsoring LPN students with many already receiving sponsorship acceptance emails.

The particulars of the SNYA work commitment was from different programs from previous grants. As grant awards change, and employment situations change, programs adjust too. At least there is still funding available to hlp with the costs.

Glad to hear you met someone going to school to give some tips. That's a great help too. SNYA meetings in the past had LPNs as guest speakers who shared their views on school, license exam preparation, and adjusting to working at their first jobs. The ones who came back to speak said they were happy to help and had gotten help from other students before them and they wanted to help new students in return. Getting the advice plus the funding can really help.

Anyone know any Westchester residents going to LPN school? There are still opportunties for sponsorship for residents living in that area.

Hello people,i just got my acceptance letter, pls i need some info on how to apply for Loan and financial aid.For those dat attended their orientation yesterday, how did it go?
