South Nassau New Grad RN Telemetry Internship

U.S.A. New York

Published

Hi Everyone!

So I just got a call today for an interview at South Nassau Communities Hospital for their new grad RN telemetry internship program! The interview is tomorrow and I am super nervous! Can anyone give me any info on the hospital and what to expect? Has anyone done one of their internship programs before? How is the environment, pay, support, etc.? Sorry to bombard you with all these questions but I definitely would like to have some sort of idea of what I'm going into. Thank you in advance for the help!

Hi Toussaint03,

Happy New Year! I haven't been on allnurses for a while - How was your interview? I am also scheduled to interview for the same program next week and hope you can shed some light on the process and the atmosphere there. I hope for the best for both of us and pray we are successful :)

Hey Happy New Year! I think it went pretty well. So its a panel interview with nurse educators and managers and the HR rep. I was definitely nervous at first but they make you feel comfortable so it went pretty smoothly. The actual questions were typical behavioral interview questions so you can totally find some good questions to practice online. Overall I feel pretty positive about it and they said they would let me know by the end of the week their decision. My only dilemma is I have another interview with a different hospital next week and wanted to be able to weigh my options. I don't know how quickly I would have to give an answer about it but I wanted to wait for the other one and see how things played out. Both positions are tele positions so I guess I'll see what happens. I went from having no prospects to 2 options to choose between if I'm lucky lol. Good luck on your interview!

Thank you Toussaint03. I am really excited for you and hope you are able to pick the right position from the 2. I will keep you posted after my interview. Thanks í ½í¸Š

Quick question, did they ask any clinical:medical questions?

None that I remember. Mostly behavioral questions (ex. Tell me about a time when this happened or what would you do in this situation)

Got it. Thanks.

Nobody seems to really offer up any info on this hospital I guess it must be top secret lol I was gonna give it one last shot and see if there are any other people who interviewed or got the internship so we could be nervous together haha

Toussaint03 congrats on the job! Just curious if the actual 16 week internship is paid. I know once that is over they start you at a regular RN Salary. Thanks

Yes it is paid!

Thanks for getting back to me! I interviewed for this position a couple days ago and got a call that they were proceeding to the next step in the process which is the reference checks. I really hope I get it! How do you like it so far?

Hi everyone! I'm applying to one of their new grad internships as well. Can any of you post your credentials? How hard is it to get into their internship program? Any advice would be appreciated! =)
