Nassau Community College Nursing Question!

U.S.A. New York

Hi All! I'm looking to apply to the NCC nursing program in the spring of 2019! I have done what seems like hours of research especially on this site of their points system for admissions, number of seats, etc. but I have been unable to find what the class schedule is like in terms of day vs evening. The only thing I did see was that if you begin classes in spring, the only option is day classes? Is this true? What is the schedule like for the nursing classes themselves. I would be taking the 1 nursing class per semester only, because I have all of the other classes already done(or will be done by the end of this summer) I work full time in an operating room as a surgical tech so I'm just curious as to what my options would be in terms of classes and my work schedule. Any input is appreciated! Thanks guys :)

Yes, you are right about the Spring semester... it's day program only. As for the exact time of classes, I'm not sure... but day classes are probably anywhere between 8am-4pm, and evening is most likely between 5pm-11pm. I'm sure they will have information sessions in the fall, so you can probably get this information there. Otherwise, are you a current NCC student? If so, just look up schedule of classes for the fall semester for each nursing class section, that should give you an idea of the hours.

Hi , I'm Currently a student there and just spoke to them - yes spring is only day program, not sure what that means as afar as seats go like how many would be available etc ... planning to also apply for spring

Hello ! As a recent graduate I can confirm that Spring semester is day ONLY. They accept around ~50 students? I know in the fall they usually accept day and night for a total of ~ 100 students. NCC is actually becoming a 4 year program (the first of its kind) starting spring 19 and the program is very unique. Good luck !

Wow really ? Also I'm planning on applying for spring but need to know what do you think is a good score ? My score currently is 144.5

Definitely find a good group to study with, always ALWAYS stay on top of the reading because they catch up FAST. Exams are strictly exam based (meaning extra assignments are either pass/fail and if they do count as "extra points" they add up AFTER you pass the class w/ a 75). For example, if your exam score is a 74.5 (they round up) you passed, and now you have maybe 3% from assignments you get bumped to a 77.5. If you are at a 74 for exam grade you failed & won't have that 3% to boost you to pass.
