Earliest Registration Date for BMCC??????

U.S.A. New York

Published

Hi: I am set to take classes for pre-clinical nursing curriculum in BMCC in fall of this year. Does anyone know when the earliest registration date is..or why there are different registration dates? The employees at BMCC can't seem to tell me why there are different dates & are always giving me conflicting information. Please advise if anyone knows anything!!!

i think the online registration through panther is for students that have already attended, not for us newbies.

Hello,

I am a freshman at bmcc. I haven't started taking classes and I already registered through panther (for the fall). The only way you can register through panther is by getting advised. Once you are advised panther will allow you to register. you can only get advised by physically going to BMCC. I thought i was going to attend the summer session II so I got advised, but my financial aid was not ready so I had to wait for the fall. I would go and get advised ASAP so that you can choose the classes that are to your convenience. If you have any questions you can send me a private message or post it here, how ever you like. As I hear we nursing students have to stick together. :nurse: :nurse:

I have not received anything for registration yet either & it is July 30. When is the first day of school? And, can we register online right now if we want to through Panther? Or, do we have to register the traditional way by standing in line all day & running to get enrolled in class? Please advise or send me an email to [email protected]. I am very confused about all of this & would like as much info as possible.

As for talking to Jose Sierra, he does not talk to students that still have to take pre-clinicals. Now, the students have to go to the general advising room next door to nursing. I was informed by the main nursing secretary that Jose Sierra can not help me. As for the general advisors, they do not really help. If anyone has any helpful info, I would appreciate it. Thanks.

Sometimes the schools forget to send the materials to the students that happened to me when I was going to Baruch. Things do get lost sometimes.

So call better yet go to the school to know what's going with the advisement process. At the admissions office you can get advised on the spot when you bring in an application. But since you already got accepted, did you get advised. If so you can register online your log in name or id is basically your S.S.N (social security number) and your password is your birthday in this format ddmmyy For example June 21, 1965 would be 062165. It's that easy!!!

Good luck tell me how it worked out. Please don't wait until the last minute,

next time. :rotfl:

Well I attend BMCC they give priority to the students that are already at BMCC based on the # of credits you have and your average. You'll see that once you have to register for SPRING 2005. This time around I was advised on the second day of advisement, I was sooo...... happy, and this caused me to register EARLY for my classes, and I already settled my bill which is not due until August 16, 2004. Some of my friends weren't so lucky, but lucky enough to have some of these classes have stayed open long enough for all of us to take classes together in the FALL.:)

Yes, there are different registration dates, but make sure that you get advised, if you have already done that try registering online.

Hi all - -

I have a BS in Business and am starting BMCC in the Fall to take pre-clinicals. I never received anything in the mail from BMCC, so a week or so ago I just stopped by there one night after work.

I went to the general student Advisement Office and a really nice guy there "advised" me. Basically he told me the 4 classes that determine entrance to the Nursing Program (which I already knew). After that, he entered into the computer that I had been "advised" which let me register immediately using the Panther System online.

My advice: DO WHAT I DID! Don't wait for a letter - just go the advisement office and get advised. I work during the day and have to take classes at night. I NEEDED to get into Chem 121 so that I can take A&P I next semester and there was only 1 section open that was not during the working day. Classes are filling up fast!!

Good luck to all!!!

so much so , that chemistry is already taken up during the evening.:angryfire

I will be taking the crazy 8am Saturday Chem classs!! yikes!

Hey, we do what we gotta do, right?

Anyway - - all of you - - go get advised! And Good Luck!

I agree! My advice is to speak to Mr. Sierra about what you will need. He is the preclinical advisor and KNOWS what you need. Getting pieces of information from other students may mess you up in the end.

Good Luck!

i am currently attending bmcc and practically just have a&p 1 to go to finish my pre req's. Mr. Sierra isnt the easiest person to speak to. Appointments are needed and his time is more then limited. just speaking from experience. If courses are needed just go to the nursing dept. and get the sheet that shows the steps of becoming an rn in bmcc. its a path that shows you how you should take your classes and what semesters they feel you should take them in.

the only way you will be able to register is to go and get advised for all new students i believe you will have to take the cuny test to make sure you do not need to take remedial classes. as soon as that is out of the way the regular registration dates are Aug.20-26. first day of classes is aug 27
