I am a new Grad RN and am interested in returning to the UK to work (I have a European Passport).

Is this possible at all? I have no experience outside clinical so it probably is very difficult.

SD -you make curry using a jar!! tut, tut, Nothing like the real thing. You can get all the spices and stuff mail order and make a proper curry. Honestly, it's sooooo much better than the jars of sauce. + of course, pilau rice is easy peasy.

Would love to make it from scratch but just haven't gotten round to getting the spices. I know dh loves vindaloo and we used to love going into our fav restaurant back in the UK and he would get the third degree before they would agree to bring it to him and he always said it was not as strong as he would like :)

Actually, SD, vindaloo is very easy to make. Just looking at the recipe and I would think you could get all the ingredients at a Sobeys or Atlantic Superstore. BTW - there is a store in Chester, N.S. that sells loads of spices. A rather long way for you but a nice trip in the Summer - Chester is very nice.

Cheers for this, may take a drive in the summer. I love to cook and been doing more since the move to NS.

Hi Silverdragon,

I know UK is going through tough times but at present, a lot of hospitals have massive recruitment drives. When i started working in Nov 08 they recruited 85 new graduates, in march they will have another big recruitment drive as people are constantly moving between jobs. believe me if you are capable and willing to work hard you do get jobs offered. I am already changing my speciality as the job i got was not my first choice and belive me i went for 4 interviews and got all 4 jobs. depends on season i guess... or my sheer luck.lol.

If the person looking for work requires a work permit then they are going to find it extremely hard to find a employer. I have been lucky when I worked in the UK that generally found work however when I lived in Hants it was very hard to find work even for the many years experience I had. A lot will depend on where you live and whether you are able to move, not everyone can especially if they have family. I know talking to my family things are very hard in the UK and I also see it on the news. Now in Canada so not an issue
