New UALR Students?

Published

Hi everyone!

I am starting the UALR nursing program in the fall of '06. Just wondered if there were any more of us out there?

Also, would like to hear from senior students and recent grads. My friends and I are excited and nervous all at the same time! Any advice, tips, words of encouragement you could offer would mean a lot to me, and many others as well!

:lol2:

I just got my acceptance letter today also! I was accepted into the accelerated program but becauses of my scholarship had to change it to the traditional option.

So to get into the accelerated option, do you need to have already completed micro?

I also got accepted into the Traditional program, however I believe all prerequisites must be taken before you are considered for accelerated.

:welcome: Congrats and good luck to all those recently accepted!

What is the dress attire during classroom lecture? I was just accepted into the Fall '07 program.

I just came back from the orientation at UALR, so I am able to reply to my own question. I will go ahead and answer my dress attire question for those who may need clarification. If you take classes at UALR, you can wear pretty much anything that you would normally to classes. If you take classes at St. Vincent's, you can't wear denim, shorts, or short skirts. I gotta go. I just got a phone call today that I was accepted into the Fall '07 program. I'm so excited. I can't wait! :)

I wasn't aware that there was a Fall '07 program. UALR's nursing program now (beginning with this year) starts in the summer. I also was notified by mail, not phone when I was accepted...

I'm not trying to be rude, I promise, but I'll be a little ticked off if it was possible to start in the Fall and not Summer because I had to pay out of pocket for the summer session since my scholarship doesn't kick in till August...

Yeah, that one class is in summer, but all the other stuff starts in the fall. Sorry about the confusion. I had to test out of A&P, b/c they wouldn't take the one I took at UCA, so I was put on a waiting list b/c I didn't meet all of the requirements until later. There was an opening and they called me to ask if I would like to take it and I accepted. I'll be getting all information in the mail next week. :)

ok, that makes sense! I was wondering because I would have loved to take the summer off and start in the fall and would have been angry if I was misled.

Congrats!!!

No, you are only required to wear your uniform when you go to clinicals and when you pick up your assignments. You cannot wear shorts or jeans at St. Vincent for your lectures though. Good luck to you! I'm starting my second year in the fall.
