When I first heard this I was very excited because I thought it might lead to better compliance and control but I don't think so. Nothing replaces diet control and exercise. And unfortunately it cannot replace NPH insulin so it cannot alleviate the need for the needle in children with type I, I would love to see that. But it is interesting news.
should be interesting to see how the units are measured on the inhaler and/or how precise this measuring system is.
That was my first question, especially with respect to those who have respiratory problems as well. Will they be able to inhale the entire metered dose? I also wonder about the long term lung affects of inhaling the insulin hormone.

I'm sure it is contraindicated in respiratory problems. There were problems in trial with those with respiratory problems. I was in the know, but cannot tell you how.
