Hello Everyone,
I am Brand new R.N and need some help with building my Resume. I know the job market is hard out there, I was wondering if anyone knows someone who will help build a good Resume for you?? I already have a Resume but I like mine to stand out from the rest.
I did some research and it would cost me few hundred dollars. Please let me know if anyone have some good recommendations.
Thank you everyone and Good luck!!!

Congratulations on you being a new RN ttsewang
Here are some tips to build up your resume: Take ACLS, PALs, EKG Classes, any extra nursing courses. Now, if you know for sure you do not want to be a pediatric nurse, then you shouldn't waste your money on PALs. If You don't want to work with adults, don't waste your money on ACLS and EKG courses. But, even if you want medical surgical/intermediate care, I strongly encourage you to do ACLS still because many med surg units now a days require it and it's good skills to know just in case your patient ever codes.
These courses and skills will build up your resume. Also, if you want more experience, try volunteering in hospitals and health care events. Look up nursing job career fairs around your area. Many hospital DO NOT advertise, so I would go to the hospitals around your area and try talking with the director/hiring nurse manager about career fair and career opportunities.
It's not always about the resume, you need to stick out. Go to the director/hiring manager and let him or her know you are INTERESTED in the job! Drop off your resume, introduce yourself, shake their hand, and make sure to get their business card! Call in the following week and remind them you are interested. These days as new grad inexperienced nurses, you have to be aggressive for the job. It's not just about how the resume looks.
Hope this helps! Keep us updated on the job hunt.

Thank you so much for the great advice pumpkinspice555!! That's a great way to start of, I finished my ACLS and BLS. I will be taking the EKG class. I will definitely stop by the local hospitals to ask for when the career fair is. That is a great advice. Thank you again for your kindness!!
