HI guys i am a brand new LVN. I made a big mistake yeterday. so there is one patient in long term facility, he has a central venous cath( not picc line).i know as a lvn i am not to supose to flush it, i didnt not flush it. I did not write any progress notes. But in our facility on computer its a click thing that we supoose to do if we did flush it n our shift, and i accidently clicked on it. NOw i am thinkig i will go today and amend it and i did it by accidently. can we do that? i dont know what i was thinking why did i click that only RN can click that. i am so scared.

Let your supervisor know and see how they would like you to prceeed

Also, be very careful about using language accurately when writing. "I didn't not flush it" means the opposite of "I didn't flush it."

This doesn't seem like that big of a deal. Just explain to your supervisor that you accidentally ticked the box. Relax.
