Hi Siri,

This is exciting.. getting to roam the world of nursing in front of my laptop. I am a master of nursing student in singapore. planning for an overseas trip to the States next year as part of the core module. it will be exciting i believe. i wonder if you could advise me on a good teaching hospital where i could see how the advanced practice nurses function

thanks

:balloons: Hello, Ah Meow, and welcome to Allnurses.com :balloons:

It is good to have you. So, you are in an NP program now in your country? That sounds exciting!! I would love to know more about your program. Have you thought about what state you might want to work here in the U.S.? There are many teaching hospitals here.....TOO many to list here. I have a few in my own state as well.

Please be a little more specific about your expectations and/or plans.

We will look forward to seeing you on Allnurses.com.......... :balloons:

hi siri..

thanks for the fast reply.. ok... NP program is very very new in singapore. i am the second cohort. it must be 30 years behind States. which states are you in? i am thinking of cleveland clinic in ohio but i don't mind texas too.

as you know, NP or advanced practice nurse (APN) has gone a long way to gain acceptance. we are just at the beginning. the first cohort had a great deal of praise for the nurses in states for their expertise and hospitality!!!

To answer your question regarding the Cleveland Clinic, they employ a wide variety of APNs.....CRNP, CRNA, CNS, CNM..........over 300 APNs. They are ranked as one of the top four hospitals in the U.S.
