I took the NCLEX-PN exam on February 22, 2012. The exam stopped after 85 questions!!! I walked out of the testing center with every thought going through my mind. Did I answer enough questions correctly? What about this question or that one? I can honestly say, the waiting for the results was the hardest part. Three days later, Pearson Vue FINALLY had the test results....PASS!!!! After 2 years of waiting to get to this point I can now say that I AM A NURSE!!!! All thanks and praises are for God alone. I would also like to send my gratitude to all the instructors and the Professor over the Practical Nursing Program @ Seminole State College, you are the best instructors I have had thus far!!! D.Coney, LPN!!!!
I am looking to transition into the RN program in May 2013, God willing!!! I haven't been looking long enough to say that finding employment as an LPN is hard. While I was in the Practical Nursing program there were a few local healthcare agencies that gave us information about the job availability. One of the agencies stuck out the most. I just applied and they already emailed me the list of requirements in order to obtain a position as a nurse at their agency. The agency that I have applied to does not require nursing experience, just work experience as well a few other requirements (i.e, a license, updated physical, a few CEU courses, etc.). Some have said that they look for months before they found work, I think it's because a lot of the agencies wanted nurses with experience, but I don't really know. I wish you the best on your journey!!!
I believe I already have the basics to being a nurse. But I will admit being an ACTUAL nurse and no longer a nursing student does make me a little nervous. I now have to apply what I know and be ABSOLUTELY certain that my interventions are 100% correct all the time. I LOVE BEING A NURSE!!!!

That is the hear part. To work in reality. Things are what they are suppose to be. Good luck
