Congratulations to you!!!

Do you have experience working in healthcare? It may just be "time".

I went out and purchased the RN Kaplan nclex review. I opted to buy the RN instead of the LPN for the CD. Do you think this is was a good idea?

Ok, it will be several months before I move on to online learning but I am deff. going to do it. Do you have AIM or yahoo instant messaging? It is easier for me to talk with people via messaging. If you do, add me to your buddy list. My screen name is CisL4him.

wow..does it really take that long to get hired as a LPN? where are you applying?

well, i'm happy to say that i finally found a job, it took about 5 weeks but i think my options may have been to blame as i did not want to work in a nursing home. I was looking for OB clinics and Peds clinics, i finally got a call back from Planned parenthood in NYC and i took the job. They have EXCELLENT pay, and benefits, so i was extremely happy. I did have previous medical experience i worked as a medical assistant for about 2 years, but the problem with all the hospitals closing down in NJ and RNs moving into LPN positions ...leaving us new comers with less opportunities. I believe though that things will balance out, i was just on the wrong side of the scale before :nurse:

No, my situation is unique. When I went for the interview I was not desperate for a job and went out of curiosity. I had just graduated by the nurse recruitor where I work called with an LPN position. It took them 4 wks to respond because I told them I could only commit to 32 hours and not 40. Also, the recruitor told me hours were 8 to 4:30 and they were 9:5:30. I told them I could not work those hours. You won't believe this. I also told them that my daughter is on a swimteam on Tues. and Thurs. so if I was approved for 32 having Tues. off would work out great. Well, I guess they really liked me and liked the fact that I had been with the hospital for 20 yrs. and made my way around in diff. positions. They called me back and gave me all that I wanted except the hours will be 8:15 to 4:45. The pay is $20 which prob. is a bit low but with the benefits, no hol or w/e I thought it sounded good. Hope I made the right choice.

well, i took the test today and I am feeling the exact same way as you did. I went in with 2 hours of sleep under my belt. The computer shut off after 3 hours. I was the last one to finish. So of course you know what I'm thinking. I'm thinking I did not pass cause why did it take me so long. I don't know how many questions I even did. My friend asked me how many i finished. I didn't even look. I just don't know what to do. I have a job waiting for me and it has been so long since I have been in school.

How did you prepare for nclex? I'm doing the Saunder's PN review. I am going to mail in my registration and application tomorrow. When they call me to make an appointment, can I schedule it for 3 weeks down the road? Will I have a choice. I don't want to take it until the end of July or so but I want to mail in my paperwork soon cause I'm not sure how long it will take to process

So even though the computer shut off after 3 hours I still may have just completed the minimum of 85? I did not want to stress myself out anymore by looking up all the details of the exam. I just new 85 was the minimum and 250 was the max. Because I was still going after 3 hours I just assummed that I had passed the 85 mark. I'm sooooo tired.

Congrats on passing...like you I had 88 questions...I think!!! I know it was a little over 85 anyways. I want to be confident but that got me nowhere the 1st time and I felt stupid for even thinkin that I past when I didn't. So now I jus don't know how to feel. But your post made me feel a little better, cuz I thought that maybe I bombed a section and thats why my test shut off so soon, wish me luck.

I don't know if I passed yet. I don't even know how many questions I did. I just kept looking at my time and answering questions. I didn't even look to see what question i was on. My computer shut off in 3 hours. did you take the nclex once or twice?
