I'm a new LPN at this facility. It's my 3rd week on job training. Did 2 weeks 7am-3pm. Started my 11p-7am shift the first night and made a med error. gave 60mg phenobarb 1 tablet. instead of 2 tablets = 120mg...I signed for it not my preceptor..Supervisor told me not to worry about it..they did pharmacy incident report which will be forwarded to the DON most likely will go to my record..Is it gonna affect my license?? How many chances of med error till you get your license revoked? I'm really worried....I have 2weeks left of orientation. My self esteem & confidence went down to the zero level....Please let me know if you have any thoughts about it..Thank you very much.. :no:

I got hired today as a LPN.. I start orientation next week. I'm really nervous about the first day of job on the floor..Any new LPNs were nervous too? What did you all do to prepare for this? Did you reread your fundamental/basic book about meds, trache care, etc? I want to know..Help me please..What do I need to do during my training for 5weeks??? Please give me tips. hey..i live around essex county new jersey..you know any place that will hire me if i can provide proof that i passed??? my license will take like 3 weeks to come since my fingerprints expired..thanks so much for reading..sorry if i cant reply to your private message..u can still message me but i cant reply. -=(

i'm sad....passed the lpn nclex 2 weeks ago..called the board of nursing yesterday for my license number.they told me my fingerprints have expired.it expires every 6months..so i paid $25.30 for them to resubmit my form..they said it will take 20-25 business days to be processed.therefore i won't be getting my license number yet...how can i apply for jobs if i can't provide a license number -=(( .. .. I was hoping I would be able to work by next week if someone hires me. blahh..anyone from new jersey knows a place that will hire me if i show a proof that i passed the nclex??

hey..my sister passed the nclex the week before i passed mine..she said she called the new jersey board of nursing for the license number. they didn't give her the number and told her just to wait for the license in the mail..so what number did you call? who do i have to talk to and what do i have to ask for when i call?? let me know.thanks.

woww...you waited that long.. i hope mine comes real quick..i'm about to apply to some just to see who will hire me without license number yet..can't sit around anymore... i hope you find a job soon too..keep in touch! good luck :)

Hey.. I graduated in August of 2007.. I failed the first Nclex in Feb 2008.The computer turned off at 85. I thought I passed because I read the entire orange Saunders book for a month. I didn't do the questions on the cd though plus I didn't sleep the night before cause I was still studying and my test was at 8am. So I was so sad. I was thinking of giving up. But I know I had to take a second shot at it. So I had a retest on July 18 2008 (scanned the Kaplan book and read about the strategies on how to take the test and did some questions from the Saunders Cd the night before the test) . My computer kept going until I reached 204 questions and ran out of time. LOL. I really thought I failed. I was so happy when I found out I passed. I was screaming my lungs out and woke everyone up who lives in my house. haha. I was so happy!!! -=D. I did go to church the day I took the test and the day before I found out.. last time I went to church was 2003. So yeah..It's a new beginning for me. I will be going once a week and I promised..So I was on vacation the whole week after I found out I passed and today will be doing my resume so I can start looking for jobs this week. Goodluck with everything and never give up because behind the dark cloud, the sun is still shining! :wink2:

I just passed my Nclex last week. It takes 2-3 weeks to get my license. I don't have that much time. I need to find a job ASAP. Any LPN in New Jersey knows any employers that will hire a recently Board passer if he/she can provide a proof of passing the Nclex?

hi...i failed my first nclex..i reregistered and paid $200 online two days after the test.just wondering if i have to inform the Board of Nursing about me reregistering..or the testing center would let the board that i reregistered and will send my ATT in 45 days after i failed my exam.please help..thank you.

thanks for the tips pagandeva!!! i did tell my parents..my mom is always the supportive one.and my dad is the one always trying to discourage me..im still thinking if i should move out for a month..i will need to bring my computer with me if i ever do so i can do questions. *sighhh..rough week..im jealous of my classmates that passed the exam...-=( i need to pass the second one..one of my classmates only used the saunders nclex and he passed..so lucky...i need to pass before i turn 24 in april..getting old..i need to move out soon..-=X..thanks again ..time to sleep..goodnight

Hello all..I took my NCLEX on Feb. 5. I FAILED...i was so sad and still am...i dont even know what to tell my parents..they think I pass...so this is my plan since i have no face to show my parents..i feel like i let them down..i will leave them a note that i am sorry that i failed but i will promise to take it again and pass it.sounds good? lol...i'm going to stay at my friend's house in another state for 45 days to study..I didn't do that much questions and I was cramming..I did read the entire Saunders book which 1000 pages..but I guess I needed to do the practice questions both in the book and CD..that was my mistake..MY computer turned off at 85 questions..I thought I passd..I felt like the questions were easy...but they were also tricky..and some meds ive never heard of or seen of.lol...i guess i was wrong..i was too confident after the test..now look what happened..but i promise myself i will pass the 2nd time i take it..theres no excuses this time..i have to..really have to....since i've read the book now i will do 1000 questions a day..for 1 month..sounds good? let me know if you have any tips..thanks!!:typing no giving up!!!
