I need some advice as soon as possible! there are aprx 7 of us adn students finishing our last class before graduation and we are faling because we have a new theory instructor that has never taught before and she reads straight from our med surg book word for word with no examples or details. im wondering if we have any rights? my biggest question- why would the college put a new instructor (that has never taught before) in our last class. this class is the most important worth 12 credits and we are being read to like kinderg. at story hour. Please give advice, i cant take the heartache. HELP!!!

Have you tried meeting w/ the instructor outside of class? Have you discussed how this is difficult and asked what can you do do improve performance? Most instructors realize that different people have different learning styles, but she/he won't know you are having problems unless you discuss it w/ them. (A failing grade is not enough; you need to ask for more help.) I would try this first, I would not wait any longer...
There should be a list of compentencies for the class. Are those being met?

I would just talk to her & tell her how you feel, don't be afraid to, it's your grade on the line, i would be speaking up asap!:wink2:

Be careful...everyone has to start somewhere. No matter what the profession.
However, as a person that just completed nursing school, I can tell you that there is strength in numbers....the more of you that go as a group to complain, will have a higher impact on just a few of you.
