Hey everyone! My name is Katherine, and I just got accepted into the LVN program at Vernon College! I am really young to start out as a nurse..I start the program in January 2013 and will not even be 19 until March! Eeeek, I am nervous but so excited and proud of myself! I am new here and wondering if anyone could give me some advice as to what to expect from the program! An I too young? I don't think so, but I am afraid it might be an issue when I go looking for jobs next December. I am really smart and confident in my abilities, just hope others see me that way! Thanks for any advice!

Congrats and welcome! Nursing school is a big change! You will make a lot of self sacrifices but very worth it! At times you might ask yourself what did I get myself into lol. You will do fine!

Welcome to Allnurses.com and congratulations on your acceptance into the LVN program! Someone in my class was 17 when she started and 18 when she graduated. Another former classmate was 18 when she started and 19 years old upon completion.
