I'm applying to UNH's nursing program. I'm already in the school, just transferring to the major. But by the looks of the emails I've been getting, it doesn't seem like that's going to happen!!

I believe you have to be an RN before you can be in the program at UNH.

I applied to Manchester this year and thats it...i know it's a bold move but all is done now. I took my NLN last year during the blackout and scored in the 90s for math and science but scored a 49 in english...I dont have a clue how i did so poorly in english of all topics. It ruined my possibility of applying last year which was horrible, I just took the NLN again on the 23rd so now i wait to see how I did on the english portion...I have a good feeling about it but then again I did last time aswell. We will see but the wait for the score is killing me...how long is it suppose to take? I am a straight A student with every pre req taken so Im really hoping this is the year for me. How is everybody elses wait going??

I just heard from Concord this weekend that I am in for Fall 2010, (yay!). I applied last year, but way late because I didn't take my NLN until March. So obviously didn't get in for 2009, and instead enrolled as General Studies and took a couple other classes that are part of the nursing program to get them done and over with and just submitted a change of program form as they had all of my other info still on file. I was surpised to hear back so quick, but I did get my form in to them by early December. I'm so excited, but also so nervous! I keep thinking I must be crazy :) I know it will be completely worth it in the end, and I will be so happy I made this decision, but I know it's going to be a lot of hard work and dedication over the next couple of years.

Congrats Leisabc on getting in.I was under the impression that we wouldn't hear back until late March. I have had my stuff in since the begining of January so maybe I will hear back sooner! Congrats again!

Thanks slong589! I had thought it would be a while as well, as I had called in early Jan to find out how long it would take and she told me probably sometime in March. Maybe as I was just transferring into another program and am already a student the process is a bit quicker? Anyway, I'll take it :) At least now I don't have to stress about waiting to hear back anymore, I'll just stress about waiting to start the program....

I am a UNH student. I'm actually in their direct entry Masters program.

You dont have to be an RN for all programs. I am wondering if the poster meant the undergrad program or my program (DEMN). No RN is necessary and you take NCLEX it when you finish (undergrad) or the semester before you graduate (DEMN).

UNH does have a RN-BSN program, as well as graduate and post-grad programs/certs.

I also applied to NHTI in concord.

I was admitted as a general studies major taking some co-requisites. I submitted my change of major form in December. I also just heard I've been accepted! I think they may evaluate the change of major candidates first? Not sure. Good luck to all! :nurse:

Melmarie23...Thank you for that information. Every time I checked out UNH I got kicked to the Masters program and never a Bachelor Program.
