Hi everyone..I am new to to this website as well as to florida.I got my LPN license 2 months back and can't find a job anywhere even the LTC needs one year experience. Any LTC facilities hiring new graduate LPN near orlando area??? I am willing to work any shifts even holidays. Thankyou so much in advance.

Isn't that a kicker? Only in America. You go to school, work your butt off, to be told you are too new to do anything. Nursing home works sucks, no wonder it pays well. Let us know what you find. Where did u move from?

Jobs for RN's as wel as LPNs are very tight. Many nurses are unable to find jobs. Search this site it has been discussed many times. We ar esll going through tough time.....Peace
Thankyou so much for replying back. I moved from california 2 months back. I applied at so many places but nobody seems interested in hiring new graduates. I am getting really disappointed now:crying2:

Try calling plasma centers or blood bank, hemodialysis centers. no pt care there, but it will help pay bills for now. It helped me until I got my foot into ED. Good luck and don't ever give up! Chin up and foward girl! Google these places near your location, search their sites, apply online, and call them to mention of your interest. It's not like the old days anymore, you have to swim hard to stay afloat, go get them! Think about possible interview questions..:) be prepared for that day! You should get a job soon, let me know.:)
Thankyou so much for the encouragement..I'll definetly try at the blood banks too n let u know if anything happens.
I also have a list of possible interview questions which I practice almost everyday so that I can be prepared for the interview..lol
Thankyou so much.

Try registering on a job search site like simply hired or monster.

Also, try volunteering. I know it's like a slap in the face, but sometimes rubbing elbows with the right people is what gets you in.

Its weird in some states its like that. Most LTC's in California will hire new grads no problem. I was a CNA for 3 years before an LVN so I worked got in at the same facilty. Just keep looking and go in to talk to the DON, that usually helps a lot.

I'm calling DON's now.
If it's somewhere I would be interested in working I'm not waiting for a job to show up online...it takes time for the job to become available, be put online...lots of downtime. If the DON knows she has someone in the wings waiting for a spot to open it saves them time and money too.
They can call u in for interview the minute they know ...rather than wade through 200 applicants for one job.
I have gotten no where with online openings.
Just too many applicants. As a new grad LVN...we get put behind all the seasoned RN's, new grad RN's, seasoned LVNS...we are last ones looked at..so we have the least chance of getting that posted job.
Getting there before it ever posts may be the key!
