anyone up for swapping resumes for constructive criticism?
during my time in school i participated in many seminars to perfect resume writing and interviewing skills; which i am sure you did to! i was also a tutor for nursing students which i helped assist many students write their resumes and cover letters.
i thought this would be a great way to share ideas of what we learned and help each other make our resumes and cover letters stand out!

I graduated in December and would love it if someone could take a look at my resume. My school offered absolutely no resume writing tips or assistance and I am completely in the dark! I have searched tirelessly on the internet and asked people for tips/assistance but find many to have contradictory information (I've heard and seen yes and no to things like listing school clinical experiences, GPAs, irrelevant to nursing part time jobs you've held while in school, color vs pure black and white) Thanks!
I haven't read through this entire post.. So, sorry if this is repetitive, but I just have one quick question.
I graduate in May, and I have been talking to many of my classmates... Some of them say to put down your skills (ie: IV, Meds, etc.) while others are saying don't bother... Currently, I do not have that one my resume and it adds up to an entire page's length. Does anyone have advice on that? I was thinking more along the lines of... If you are applying for a RN job, you should have those skills without saying them?
Is this offer/forum still open? I will be graduating in August and will begin applying very shortly for RN positions in the milwaukee, WI area. I would love for anyone, nurse recruiters in particular, to take a final look. Any advice or feedback would be greatly appreciated.
Hey guys! I have a couple questions about my resume. Before NSG school i went to 3 other colleges, mainly bc I moved a couple times. Is it appropriate to just put the college you went to for NSG school or if you don't put the other ones will it look like you are trying to hide something?
Also another question for anyone here who works in HR. What is your first impression of someone who stutters? :/ I stutter when i get nervous and I know i will when i have an interview! Ugh I just don't want it to hinder me in finding a job.

kjsquared, what i was always told was do not include your list of skills. as a new grad, usually they have a pretty good understanding of what your skills are...basic! also it is not necessary to include "references available upon request"-this is also a given!
on another note, i wish that nursing recruiter from 2009 would visit this post again! i would love someone to look over my cover letter and resume, as i am graduating in december.

My first question is: Do I need to put LPN after my name? Second: my CPR just expired and my class is not until August 23, so how do I write that into my resume? Third: I just signed up for IV Certification, but that is not until September 16. How do I put that down on my resume too. Would love to hear from anyone with advice.
