I am a recent graduate of a LVN program and passed my NCLEX-PN about one month ago. I have applied to about 8 locations and have had 2 interviews one week ago. I am currently working a temporary job for the flu season but I am having trouble landing a stable full time job... Any advice from people who have been in my shoes would be great. Thank you.

Go back to some of the sites you did clinicals at and tell those Nursing Mgrs how much you learned on thier floors/units and now that your licensed you would really like to work for them, then ask them to set up a job shadow day for you. If you get the staff and managers behind you, HR should have no problem extending an offer.
Best of luck!!

When I was looking for a job this past February some people didn't call me back until 2-3 months after I interviewed - and I have experience. Of course, I'd already found a job by then. Don't give up hope.

I'm very close to Newark. I don't where you want to work but there are tons of nursing homes in the Bay Area so I would say eight applications is not really a lot to have filled out. I had clinicals at ManorCare in Walnut Creek. That is a very nice facility and the staff are friendly. Good luck!
