New Grad Salary

Published

I am graduating in April and am curious about what the average pay is for a new grad right now. I heard someone say at a local hospital it was 20/hr for days which to me is quite low. I don't expect to start out making a lot and I definitely didn't get into nursing for the money but I am just curious.

It depends where you live

I've heard of people making way less and way more as a new grad. It definitely depends on where you live! (As jamisaurus said :) )

Like others have said, it depends on where you live. I can tell you 20hr is about the going rate for new grads in my area.

$19 was my first job on western ny.

Then was making $22.50 in Virginia after 2 years exp.

depends a lot on where you live.

the philadelphia area rate is anywhere from 27-30 an hour from my own experience and other friends who just started

I am in Arizona right now

I live in AZ. 27.50, new grad in a rural hospital

Specializes in CVICU.

In Oklahoma, it is about $20-22 base + differentials.

Depends, I just graduated from a Quebec University and thankfully passed my exam, so our salary is somewhere between 26-28$ (also depends on which unit you work intensive care vs. regular unit)

Does anyone know about York/Hershey area in Pennsylvania?

I am in Denver and my classmates are getting on average of 21/hr with a 11% raise if they stay there for 6 months. I got hired on at 24.53 but I am with the same company I was a CNA for.

Also, on averabe BSN's make 50 cents more than ADN's here.
