HI, I am a new grad RN looking to relocate from NY to AZ. I have been an LPN for 7yrs, and recently completed my ASN, currently enrolled in RN to BSN online. I have been trying to research as much as I can before starting the arduous process of moving cross country. I have a few questions, if anyone can help...
1) What is the average pay rate for a new RN?
2) Are they hiring new grads?
3)Suggestions for areas to live?
4) Social scene/nightlife in AZ? (I'm 34)

1) Average pay rate is $25/hour for new grad. I've seen lower and higher, so that's pretty average.
2) New grads are being hired. It's a good thing you are in your RN-BSN program already because employers out like to see that on your app.
3) Cheap but still nice out here is San Tan Valley, Goodyear, Avondale, Surprise. Chandler, Gilbert, and Scottsdale are all really nice/quiet but are a little more expensive.
4) Downtown PHX, Westgate, and Old Town Scottsdale all are big nightlife spots.

If you work in a hospital, most of them lay $26-30. LTC is all over the place though ranging from below $25 to around $30. Home health and corrections is kind of middle of the road as well.
Will you be moving to Phoenix metro, or more toward Tuscon, as the answer your remaining questions will be based on that.
Living is pretty solid in most areas of Phoenix metro, there are nice areas and ghetto areas of just about every city. West side tends to be a little cheaper to rent then east side. But even that is just general as there are expensive areas all over.
Good night life pretty much surrounds old town Scottsdale, westgate, and mill ave (near tempe town lake).

1) What is the average pay rate for a new RN? I started at 27.70 as a new grad with a bachelors in 2013
2) Are they hiring new grads? Oh absolutely, we are hiring like crazy, (Banner System)
3)Suggestions for areas to live? Tempe, downtown phx, scottsdale, I live in gilbert and I love it but I like quiet/safe/clean
4) Social scene/nightlife in AZ? (I'm 34) Old town scottsdale, downtown gilbert, downtown phx

Hi, I'm also a New Grad BSN RN that has started at Banner end of August. Our starting pay ranged from $26-$28. Also depending if u r nights r days will determine shift diff. (18% for nights.)
Banner is a wonderful Hospital to work for and they have a lot of locations around the valley.
Depending on what your scene is will determine what u like to do. I'm 35, but I'm into Urban so my scene is more Mills Ave in Tempe and Westgate areas.
Living: I stay in Laveen,South Phoenix area. Houses are big, Nice communities and cheaper. Now if u want more upscale living style, head towards Scottsdale, Tempe, or Mesa. Higher and depending on where u choose the work, Phoenix traffic is HORRIBLE during rush hours.
Welcome to Arizona...
