There are lots of new grad positions just posted at Enloe Medical Center in Chico, CA. It's an hour and a half drive from Sac. I know new grad jobs are hard to come by these days.

Thanks very much for posting that!

I started working there as a new grad so I can answer any questions you might have.
Cool. Can you tell me the name of the nurse recruiter so I can send a proper cover letter? How do you like it there? Is the staff friendly? Do they welcome new grads with open arms? How many beds does the hospital have? Do you have CNAs on staff? Thanks for any info you can give me!

Sully,
How long did the whole process take from when you sent your resume to getting interviewed and getting hired. Any info will be great. Thanks. I would love to work there.

Thanks for posting this info. I am sure that someone will find it useful.:typing
Susan Finck, Nurse Recruiter 530.332.7047 or email: [email protected]. It probably took 3 weeks or so from putting in my application to getting the job. They are VERY new grad friendly. The hospital is small about 400 beds but is currently under construction to expand. They have a great new grad program that takes about 6 weeks where you are going to skills lab as well as working on the floor with a preceptor. I worked on the 4th floor and the staff was very welcoming to me. I have classmates that are working on every floor and everybody has had a great experience. I worked nights and had 3 to 5 patients and usually there would be 1 to 2 CNA's working nights. There is a night time educator available to help you out with anything too.
Thank you very much Sully!
Sully, I have one more question! Are they 12 hour shifts there? If so, what are the hours? 5 to 5? 7 to 7? Thanks so much,

When the postings says M/S, Oncology, Peds are those separate units and would I have to choose one? Also is the pay rate similar to the levels of the Bay Area and Sacramento? Lastly, what do you think the chances would be that they would hire someone that is not necessarily local? Most places I apply to are concerned with my geographical location and will not even consider me for an interview, let alone a job. I would be willing to relocate so this is not an issue to me, but I think this is just a tactic to eliminate applicants since they have so many. Thanks for any inisight.
12 hour shifts 7 to 730. I started out at 33.09 but I think it might have gone up now. The night shift differential is around 2.50 and weekend differential of 1.50. There is a night shift bonus of 500 for every 120 hours worked on the night shift. They also offer a sign on bonus and relocation assistance. My friends and I moved there from a different area and they had no problem hiring us. They also offer $250 per month student loan repayment after 6 months employment with a year commitment and they will continue to pay as long as you work there. They also pay $200 toward NCLEX review course and bonuses for extra shifts worked. Pretty sweet deal!
Wow! They sure are going the extra mile to get and keep employees.
