New grad pay in DFW?

Does anyone have some insight to offer? I got my BSN and I've just been hired as a new grad in the ICU of medium sized hospital in the mid-cities area. Also, I'll be working nights. I've got 1y experience as a Nurse Extern. I'm pretty unfamiliar with starting salaries for new grads as well as differential pay. I'm also open to any advice for a new grad in the ICU!

Probably anywhere from $22-25/hr. That's what I was told last year during interviews when I was a new grad.

Most major acute care hospital systems in the D/FW area pay between $22 and $25 per hour, as the previous poster mentioned. LTAC hospitals such as Kindred and Lifecare pay a little more to new grads, between $28 and $31 per hour. Rehabilitation hospitals such as Reliant, Global, Texas Rehabilitation Hospital, and Regency also pay a little more than average.

Seriously? 22-25? That sounds awful, esp. For bsn. But I guessed it's all related to experience. Good to know I will not be going to a hospital once I'm done.

There is no difference in pay between BSN and RN no matter where you go.

that's the 1 thing i do know. i've had 2 offers: 23.50$ and 24.52$ per hour

OP is currently an LPN/LVN in a dialysis center and, I assume, intends to continue working in dialysis once she earns the RN license.

You are correct, Commuter. Dialysis for life! I make 21.52/hr right now.

I work at Methodist Hospital Dallas as a brand new gard:

$24/hour base

$4.50 night

$6.50 weekend

$10 bonus

Last two week paycheck was $3500 with working 4 days.

Hey TexHaws thank you for the helpful information. I am heavily considering applying to one of Methodist Dallas new grad internships fro June 2015. I have tried to contact the lady in HR that the website says to call for more info, but she has not returned my calls. I am looking to relocate to Dallas when I graduate in May with my BSN. Do you know anything about the new graduate internships there?
