New Grad needs info on St. Francis Hospital in LI

U.S.A. New York

Hey everyone,

I recently got an interview for an RN position at St. Francis Hospital in Roslyn, Long Island. I'm super excited and a little nervous since its the first interview I've gotten since graduating this May. Can anyone please give me some info on the hospital, like the type of atmosphere, support available to new grads, salary, or what its like to interview there? I've researched the hospital like crazy but I would like to hear from anyone who has worked there or knows someone that works there.

Thanks!

Hello everyone, I am starting orientation at St. Francis in two weeks, May 2nd. I am a new grad. Any advice? Thank you!

Congratulations! I am going on my second interview soon with the nurse manager. Do you remember any questions that you were asked?

To those who started working at St. Francis...

How is the orientation process? I heard it was short, but did you feel prepared to be on your own after?

I had interview at St. Francis last week and I know orientation started this week. Does the 2 weeks to get a response still apply since orientation started or should I assume that I didn't get the job. I really want it, but I feel that my interview could have gone better I was just super nervous.

Does anybody know how strict they are with the 3.4 GPA? I noticed some of the job listing say that "new grads are welcome with 3.4 gpa".

I have a 3.0 but some of their listings don't mention anything about a minimum GPA and so I applied to those only. I received a call scheduling me for an interview but now I'm scared once they realize I don't have that 3.4 I will be disqualified.

The application I filled out didn't ask for GPA and the positions I specifically applied to didn't mention that as a requirement either.

Any advice is appreciated!

Hey! Did you hear from St Francis at all? I'm basically on the same boat as you. When I had the interview with the recruiter she said their next orientation was Sept 12. But it has now been almost 2 weeks since my 2nd interview (with the nurse manager) and no word. And Sept 12 is this upcoming Monday. :/

When I got a call from a recruiter after applying, they did ask what my GPA was. And then they told me to bring a copy of my transcript for my first interview. I'm not sure if they're really strict with it but they will definitely ask you about it to see if you're at the 3.4.

That's really strange - when the HR person called me to schedule the interview she didn't mention anything about GPA. I do wonder why only some of their position listings say 3.4 is required and then other listings don't list a gpa requirement. I don't know what to do now - am I just going to be wasting my time going to the interview then?

Hi all,

i just had one interview with the nursing manager. It seemed as if I got the job, I'm not sure. She said she'll have someone call me about orientation? So I'm not sure. She also said the next orientation date is in October... I hope I get it! Does anyone know the starting pay rate for new grads?? Thanks!

Congrats, Did they verify your gpa or did the listing you applied to specify a gpa requirement?

I don't think it would be a waste of time. I don't know for sure if they're that strict with it, but it was definitely brought up a few times for me. If you already have an interview scheduled, I would use the interview to your advantage so a

I'm not sure if I got the job, my interview went pretty well. I called HR to follow up and she asked me to send in my transcript and diploma. I don't have a 3.4. I'm stressing! I hope they still consider me.

Hello! I hope you got the position! I have an interview with a manager for a general med surg unit on Thursday. Do you remember any of the questions you were asked? Thanks!
