New Grad needs info on St. Francis Hospital in LI

Published

Hey everyone,

I recently got an interview for an RN position at St. Francis Hospital in Roslyn, Long Island. I'm super excited and a little nervous since its the first interview I've gotten since graduating this May. Can anyone please give me some info on the hospital, like the type of atmosphere, support available to new grads, salary, or what its like to interview there? I've researched the hospital like crazy but I would like to hear from anyone who has worked there or knows someone that works there.

Thanks!

Hi SW_RN,RN

Congratulations on getting the job and I hope you are enjoying it! I recently graduated ( May 21) to be exact and I applied to the New Grad SICU residency offered by St.Francis. For my last clinical experience I was in the SICU and loved it so when I saw the job posting I was excited to apply. I have my interview this Monday and when I was called to set up an appointment, I was told to bring a copy of my transcript, resume, diploma ( if i had), and BLS card. I was also told to look out for an email that included the link to fill out my references so that they may provide info for the hospital. I am super nervous about the interview but staying hopeful!! I am just a little confused on how this whole interview process works... does it seem that I am meeting with HR or with a manager since all of my information was requested?

Thank you in advance :)

Congratulations on the job interview! And I do love the job. I was told all of the same things and I only met with the nurse manager of my floor. I had already filled out my references and they were already done before I had the interview and I heard back within the next day that they wanted to offer me the position. Although that is very quick, they will usually tell you you'll hear in about a week from them if they are interested in you.

Sounds awesome! Did you have one interview with the nurse manager and than a second with the panel that you mentioned? I am also wondering how it would work considering I still am waiting to take the NCLEX, Adelphi explained to us that it will take a few weeks for the state to process the students and I should be able to sign up for the NCLEX and take the exam around early July. Do you think that if I get offered the position I will be working on permit or they will wait until I get my license. I know a few friends that already have positions there and are currently working on permit, if they fail the NCLEX though they lose the job.

It was just the one panel interview with the nurse manager and two other people, and I'm not sure if they are going to let you work on permit or not. I don't know of anyone working on permit but that doesn't mean that they don't do that

Good morning All

I know this post is old, but I need some help. I interviewed at SFH a few weeks ago, first with the recruiter and then the nurse manager.

Can anyone tell tell me how they reached out to offer the job? I called just to follow up with the recruiter and she stated "You should be getting a letter in the mail." Need less to say my heart dropped as this sounded like a no.

Hope someone sees this and can help.

hi! I actually start new RN orientation tomorrow and I came across this so I wanted to answer your question for you. I had my interview at the end of April and got offered the job by phone about 5 days later. I'm not sure if they stay consistent or not with how they offer the job. It may depend on what position and when the position would start. What I can tell you is that I was told orientation would start for me on August 9, but then it was changed to the 22nd. Stay positive and you can always reach out again and ask for specifics if you haven't gotten that letter yet! I know it sucks waiting... good luck and be confident!! :)

Hey - I know this is an old post, but I was wondering if anyone knew how long the residency program through St. Francis is? I've been looking online but haven't been able to find much information on it. Also, if you have any feedback on how your experience with the program went, I'd love to hear it! Thanks in advance!

I see that this is an old thread but this is the most recent St. Francis thread...I recently did both interviews with the nurse recruiter and then the nurse manager "panel" interview two days later...about how long did it take for them to call back? I feel like both interviews went well overall despite my nervousness but I am still waiting for all my references to complete the online reference form and I still have yet to receive my BSN diploma (I graduated in August). The recruiter told me next orientation starts November 12. Thanks

Hi everyone! I know this thread is old but can anyone share what the starting salary for a new grad RN is at St. Francis hospital? Thanks!

When I started in 2014 it was $37/ hour
