New Grad LVN, can't find a job

Nurses Job Hunt

Hi all!

So I am sure there are quite a few threads on this topic but I am starting my own in the hopes of getting some help or hope. I live in Southern California and obtained my VN license in March of this year. I have applied for over 100 jobs since then and I have only had 2 interviews out of all the jobs I applied for. EVERY place wants experience and many companies state on the job posting "no new grads please". I am almost to the point where I am just going to give up. :crying2: I am currently completing my pre-reqs to begin a RN program but I really thought I'd be able to work as a LVN while studying for my RN.

Does anyone have any suggestions for me or know of a place that will hire new grads with no experience? Please help!

SoCal is one of the toughest spots to find new grad work. I was licensed in May and went back to work in a medical assistant position except i use the title LVN. It's almost as if you're license means squat until you have that almighty one year under your belt. My only suggestion would be to go into places don't just blindly fax a resume.
