I work right now as a CNA, starting my LPN program in Feb. 2011. I work for Masonicare Home Health, they have offices all over CT and do hire LPN's, might be worth looking into. Good Luck!! www.Masonicare.org
I also graduated in April 2010 and just recently (finally found a part time) job. Every place I applied to never responded back, and those that did only had positions for per-diem. If you are willing to travel to Waterbury a place called Cheshire house is looking for per-diems and they do hire and train new nurses. Good luck cause I know it is hard:heartbeat
Hi,
I just have to put my 2 cents in. I had a horrible time finding a job as a new lpn grad last year. Every application I submitted was totally ignored. My phone calls were never returned. I was at the end of my rope....
Here's how I changed my luck: I stopped sending out random applications and stopped calling. I researched the company websites and corporate websites for the names of the Director of Nurses, drove to the facilities, went to the front desk and acted a bit disgruntled (channel an upset family member) and asked to speak to Jane Doe and then turned on the charm! I would politely explain that I was in the area and heard that they were looking for new talent (even if they weren't) and talk and nod and smile and blah blah blah.....I got 2 call backs, and 2 job offers in 2 weeks. It didn't work with everyone, and some even got ******, but I'm employed!

@Jenncharbs: I work in Agawam at Heritage Hall. There are 4 buildings here some with 12 hour shifts, some with 8 hour shifts. They are always hiring! Come to any building or fill out an application at all of them I pretty much got hired on the spot. They take new grads as well, I just hit my one year mark. Hope this helps!

I am a new grad LPN, I passed the NCLEX in June and still have not found a job. I cannot tell you how many jobs I have applied to, and have gotten no replies whatsoever. It is very frustrating seeing as I paid 36,000 for my education and have not found a job since graduating in April 2010. Does anyone work in LTC, doctors office, school, detention center, rehab, substance abuse facility, or anywhere that is hiring LPNs and is willing to train them? I am also going on for my RN right now if that makes a difference. I am 21 years old, will work any shift, any days, and will travel anywhere in CT. I would greatly appreciate any replies or help! Thank you!
