  1. I love that tactic!!! I will def. keep it in mind. Congrats on your new endeavors
  2. I'm a CNA that is also a LPN student in my first module. I am thankful to be going through basic CNA skills again. After doing it for 6+ years, it's nice to be refreshed on how things should be done. It's also been a bonding experience with all of my classmates and I would not gain anything by missing it.
  3. I definitely will thanks. Congrats to you on finishing and being valedictorian, that's awesome!!! I hear you all on the drama. There is some of that going on in my class, but I don't think the people involved will last long in the program. We've already lost 1 and another just never showed up and we're only 2 weeks into it.
  4. Hi sorry for the slow response, I have been COMPLETELY overwhelmed with school and work. I am in the Lincoln Tech Hamden, CT program (22mths nights). We had our first nursing exam this week and I got a 98. I was so stoked. I had to end up taking a cut in hours at work because there just wasn't enough time in the day for both school and work. If you work while going to school, how do you handle it? I am struggling trying to find the balance.
  5. Hi I just started Lincoln Tech program in Hamden, CT (this is my second week). Are you going days or nights? I am in the night program and will say that it is tough! I can't imagine being in the heavier course load of the day program, it's a 12 month as opposed to my program which is 22 months. You have to keep up on the reading and homework or you will fall behind badly. I had to make adjustments to my work schedule so I have fewer hours just to accommodate school, I didn't realize the effect it was going to have on me. Not trying to scare you, just know that you will have to make some sacrifices, but in the end I think it's well worth it. Good Luck in your program :)
  6. Thanks so much, i will definitely keep you in mind
  7. Thanks for the advice, I will keep it in mind.
  8. Congrats on getting into LPN school!!! I wish you all the best :)
  9. I went to orientation last night and we have a pretty small class (approx. 21), everyone seems nice and eager to get started. I haven't been in school in almost 10 years and am VERY nervous!!!! Any words of wisdom or advice would be greatly appreciated.
  10. I LOVE that way of thinking!! I never thought of it like that. Makes me feel a bit better about the high cost of education. Thanks :)
  11. Yes, I am going to a private school. Here in CT they just brought back the state LPN programs, however, they are so competitive there is no guarantee that you'd get in (as of right now they won't be accepting new students until Aug. 2012). So unfortunately the more expensive program is my best option.
  12. I am starting LPN school this coming Monday. I didn't get much in financial aid, but after all is said and done I will be paying just under $31,000. It includes all of my books as well, but like you think it's high.
  13. I start LPN school this coming Monday. I am so nervous, but very excited as well. Best of luck to you. Maybe we can keep in touch and share our experiences.
  14. I was accepted at Lincoln Tech in Hamden, CT. I will be starting Feb. 7th, 2011. I hear it's a hard program but I am determined to find a way to hang in there. I don't know anything about your school and have heard mixed reviews on mine, but my husband is a LTI graduate and he had a great experience. I wish you all the best of luck!!!
  15. I've heard that it is a strict program. I am a good student, and am not so concerned with that, but I will be extra cautious. Thanks and good luck to you!!
