Hello Everyone ,

I just wanted to ask all of you fellow nurses out there what I should do about my interview. I had my first new grad phone interview on Thursday afternoon and the head of HR said I did very well. She then gave me a list of floor openings and asked for my top 3 to send my application to for interviews. She said that they have 72 hours to contact me for interviews and then said nothing after that. It has only been one full business day since my phone interview. If I dont hear anything by Tuesday should I call her and ask what the next step in the hiring process is. Please let me know what you would suggest doing. I really need this job and this is my first time interviewing with a hospital. Thank you so much in advance:) :)

Congrats! That is awesome! Just out of curiousity what state are you in? It seems that hospital had quiet a few jobs available.

Specializes in urology/ENT/plastics.
Thank you to everyone for all the support! This is why I love this site and nursing:) So today HR called me and told me that the floor I did my final internship on which was an OB floor the director called and asked for her to send my resume over. She didnt have a position open until august but she wanted my resume and to see what she could do 15 minutes later the director of the OB floor called me to offer me a job! She said she didnt want to interview me that shes seen me work and that means more than asking me a list of questions! I accepted right away and told her I would be honored! I loved doing OB and the floor that I was on but generally new graduates do not get jobs in OB ! I'm so excited! Any advice would be appreciated:)

Congrats!! It's great to have interned on the unit you wanted! Since the director hired you based on your past performance, you just need to continue whatever you've been doing since it got you the job! :yeah:

Specializes in NICU.

Congrats and best of luck to you
