new grad fort worth

Published

Is anyone else here in the area having a hard time finding a job as an Rn?

I graduated in September and have been applying to tons of stuff and have only heard back from one place.

Does anyone have an idea of who may be hiring new grad rns in fort worth?

Thank you :):nurse:

The internships and residencies do account for a couple i have seen, but the ones i looked at were all looking for BSN degree holders. However, I saw 20-30 positions not requiring experience posted at various facilities throughout the area.

@ lonestar Where did you see job posting that don't require experience in DFW area?

Parklands, Medical City, baylor.. Cant remember where else but parklands had the most.

However, as I experienced in DFW, even though you may apply to the grad. position, there are hundreds(literally) that apply for that very same one. Out of those they may interview 70, out of those they may only have 20 slots for the position. I interviewed for a Parkland position in L and D and was told I was one out of hundreds (I wont specify the amount because I cannot remember), and that they were interviewing 75 and then the actual l and d positions would be offered to 20 people. Unfortunately I was not one that was extended an offer. I did have to move out of the DFW area to a border town for my first position. I have had an offer since to transfer within my company to a DFW psych hospital, now that I have experience. I plan to transfer after I stay here for a little while longer for experience and I feel obligated to the hospital as well. The problem partly is the enormous amount of new grads in the dfw area, and many other areas as well. There are not enough spots for everyone! I believe that once one has experience, maybe a year or two, finding position should happen. However new grads may fill out thousands of applications, and I literally mean thousands because that is what I did, and may only get one or two interviews and even then you are up against so many others! I really feel for the new grads, it is a rough road right now.

These are all hospitals that only hire new grads through their internships, which happen twice a year for start dates in January and June. They begin the interviewing process 3-4 months prior to the start dates.

2018, I literally applied 40-50. Haven't heard anything. Such a terrible area to be in as a new grad...

I am literally in the same boat. Job market is so horrible in DFW for new grads

This is such a reality. We should be all aware of the saturated job maket. I have no idea why would nursing schools are keeping saying nurses are in need? I only think it applies to CNA positions...
