Due to recent changes regarding applications for International nurses to Australia and the combining of the nursing boards to one central nursing board in Australia AHPRA I have started a new thread for people to discuss the new process on working in Australia.
Currently New Zealand is not accepting new applicants from International trained nurses except those that meet the Trans Tasman Mutual Recognition Agreement {TTMR} this will be updated once the New Zealand nursing board reopen their books to International nurses.

Hi! Good day to all... I'm a newbie here and wanting to pursue my OZ dream too. To start with, I already took the IELTS and got the scores I needed, but the main concern is that I applied under British Council not IDP, since the original plan is to go to UK but since UKBA became so strict re foreign applicants and is requiring me to have a sponsor and a job placement yet I can't find one, I opted to apply to OZ.
Will AHPRA consider my IELTS under British Council??? or will they require me to retake it again under IDP... Thanks in advance for all your replies =) =) =)

hi! as far as i know, it does not matter where you took your IELTS, be it BC or IDP, the results are still valid :)

Hey Cioman!Yup, I emailed them right after I posted my inquiry here if anyone tried ARNTP. They have not responded though:confused: Ill probably try calling them.
Hi,
I am an ARNTP graduate, Unisa accepts overseas nurses for the program and APHRA will process your registration once you finish the BP. ( Meaning you don't need APHRA'S endorsement to take the Bp ) though all APHRA's requirements has to be complied. CHEERS
hi everyone, first of all i want to thank each one of you for unselfishly giving your time and effort to answer questions. i have been reading your posts and i find this site very helpful. I just arrived in australia last december 24,2010. i want to seek advice on what to do to be able to be registered as a nurse here. From what i understand,i should still go through APHRA to have my credentials evaluated. I read from the previous posts that since some things have changed since july 2010, there is a possibility that the BP will take up to 2 years? Are there other options that i can possibly do? thanks so much.
I'm glad I stumbled onto this page. My head is spinning from reading aphra and anmc websites since they don't give clear information about how to proceed. I'll be backreading these posts to see if there is something that will help. So thanks :) I have a question though... is a bridging program the only way to gain registration in Aus? I'm only asking because there was a CAS program a year ago... actually, I wasn't able to continue with this program because of the deadline (national registration). All that money spent for nothing. This time around, I just want to make sure I'm doing the right thing.
